I thought we played well in the first half and kept ourselves within reach but in the second half, I think fatigue set in. We didn't get in until 2-2:30 in the morning. Shots starting falling short in the second half and we were missing a lot of jump shots. |
I thought we were uninspired in the first half, and we came out and got things going in the second. I was disappointed we couldn't get Brooke out of the game. It was very physical and I didn't want people getting beat up heading to Washington (on Thursday). |
I threw 20 balls and took about 15 swings on videotape and went and saw Dr. Andrews, who was a heck of a trouper for seeing me in his hospital bed after a heart attack. We had a good conversation. He examined me, and that's about the extent of it right now. |
I told all the teachers to come down, and any members of the community that want to. A teacher mentioned (the idea of a rally) to me. I thought it would be a good idea. It just kind of spontaneously happened. Some parents have helped to organize it as well. |
I told him many times that I think this is a pretty good colt, but he is the kind of guy who doesn't get excited. He said, 'We'll see, we'll see.' He has told me repeatedly that he doesn't want to run in the Derby unless he has an absolute chance to win it. |
I told the commissioner that by the end of the year, I'll have pure white hair from coaching these guys. When you have young players like this, they'll drive you absolutely crazy, especially after you get spoiled by the teams I had the last couple of years. |
I try not to look ahead, because we have our hands full with Miles. You just hope you can take advantage of your No. 1 seed, because we worked awful hard to get that. And it would be a crying shame to go up there and play poorly, because we overlooked them. |
I try, but it's not that hard because I think you can't do that alone and you have to respect that everybody's a big part of the success we have. It can go back down very easily, so you try to enjoy your time and do your best to play well and help the team. |
I turn on my computer. I wait patiently as it connects. I go online. My breath catches in my chest until I hear 3 little words, "You've got mail." I hear nothing, not a sound on the streets of New York. Just the beat of my own heart. I have mail...from you. |
I want the best guy playing, and if that takes us going out and competing every year, that's OK. Maybe I played the best this year, but next year maybe I won't be the best guy. Competition always makes you better. I expect an open competition in the spring. |
I want this to be clear, ... This decision is a result of a large number of situations that accumulated over a long period of time. He's been warned repeatedly about the consequences of his actions. We gave Terrell every opportunity to avoid this situation. |
I want to give George Mason a lot of credit. They came out of the gates hot, and that was the difference. That said, I don't think we played particularly well in the first half. We didn't play the way that led us to the Sweet 16. Our shot selection hurt us. |
I want to see how we've progressed and how we'll react to playing against Oak Hill, particularly our guards. It's obviously a daunting task. But we had very little team chemistry when we played them in November. I'm expecting our effort to be much-improved. |
I wanted to give him the opportunity to share whatever feelings he had with our team. One of the things about our team is they feel nobody cares, or very few people care. He did, so he cared enough to ask. I didn't ask him. He asked me. That's a compliment. |
