I'm really proud of our girls and what they accomplished this year. Shoshone played a great game. They shot so well today. If Shoshone plays at that level, they're a better team than we are right now. But fortunately we've got everybody coming back except for three seniors. |
I'm sad. I went up to him after the game and I almost started crying because I feel bad for him. Ray's done a lot of things over the years, and he really stepped up this year, in particular, and showed a lot of senior leadership. I thank him for everything he's done for me. |
I'm so proud of our kids because we had so many chances to make excuses and fold. We had a pretty resolve about ourselves, kept battling and made just enough plays. Sometimes this time of year, it was about making one more play, and that might have been what it was tonight. |
I'm very excited about where we're at. We're 3-2, and both of our losses could have gone the other way. With the new courts, the girls are getting lots of hits. It's always been such a struggle, with 20 girls, to get enough court time. The new courts have been a great help. |
I'm very happy. My putting worked well. That good start really gave me the push. If you shoot 65 anytime, it's always good and it'll give me confidence. You need to strike the ball well here. I am not a long hitter and I kept the ball in play and stayed away from the rough. |
I'm very, very honored to be here tonight in this facility and in this city. You cannot come to this city without the realization that this is the seat of American government, and you can't come here without feeling a little patriotic, especially in a building such as this. |
I've always been a Michigan fan growing up. My neighborhood at home -- drive down the street and there's always this weekend (when) you would have an Ohio State or a Michigan flag hanging off your front porch. Growing up, to me it was always the epitome of college football. |
I've been here before. It's not like I'm new to the situation. It's not like if they tell me I'm going to Triple A, I'm not going to break down, cry or go down there and get mad and not work. I've been there before. So I'm ready to handle any situation that is thrown at me. |
I've been pretty fortunate; everybody I've worked with has been pretty ego-free and they're just there to do the work and they're famous because they do good work. And the people I've run into have generally been pretty giving, caring people. It's easy to connect with that. |
I've been there several times and helped him cook. It's quite unique. He looks at what he's doing as just another stepping stone of learning. He wants to learn from the best, and his satisfaction is that people enjoy what he makes. He's my son and he's good at what he does. |

I've known coach Kay since 93, ... He and I have had mutual friendship and respect for one another for 13 years and it makes it easier for me to get to the place that I'm ready to accomplish. With his coaching ways and discipline, it was definitely a factory in coming here. |
I've never seen an offense so productive that's so packed together. They run a flex offense and the top two guys are at the free throw line, and somehow they manage to just school people. We can't be reacting to those cuts and those screens or it's going to be a long night. |
I've seen young guys who've played great and I've seen them absolutely overwhelmed. I've seen young players literally in the fetal position during a series because they're overwhelmed by the intensity and the emotion of what's going on. And I've seen guys raise their level. |
