A five-run lead just makes you that much more aggressive. You want to bear down and keep a lead when you have one.

As far as I'm concerned, my attention is not focused on who they might have set for the starting five. I can only worry about what I can control, pitch the way I know I can pitch. I'll let everything else happen on its own. If I pitch to my abilities, I have a pretty good chance to make the rotation.

Definitely, me being a competitor, I like to get even. No one likes to get beat down. For me pitching to the Yankees twice, I tried to look at it in a positive way. I try not to think about it, and if it's hurting, try not to show it. If it was that big a deal and I couldn't pitch with it, I wouldn't pitch. A lot of times in baseball, you're not 100 percent. It depends on how mentally strong you are. That's what it all comes down to.

I want to show it. I'm not the one who is going to talk. I'd rather go out and let my actions speak for it rather than talk a bunch of game. As far as I'm concerned, nothing is going to be given to me. In the back of my mind there's five spots and I'm competing for one of those five spots.

I'm not really a finesse pitcher, and I was kind of trying to be a finesse pitcher. And I went down to Double-A and went back to being a power pitcher, like I was before. Then, [I] got back up to L.A., where I wanted to be.

I'm not the one to talk it. I want to go out and just do it.

I've been here before. It's not like I'm new to the situation. It's not like if they tell me I'm going to Triple A, I'm not going to break down, cry or go down there and get mad and not work. I've been there before. So I'm ready to handle any situation that is thrown at me.
