Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken? / Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD. |
Having [Brooks] there right behind me literally on the field is a great feeling. You know you can count on him to overpower players and to get out here on the edge where you need him with his speed and his power. Having him back there really gives confidence to this defense. |
Having said that, we saw him play the latter part of August and thought he had had enough. He had already gone from Double-A to Triple-A and we thought it was time for him to go home and get ready to play winter ball if he wanted to, or if not, get ready for spring training. |
Having the opportunity to get up and start the day off on the right foot by playing hockey, it's great. I think it will help all of us academically as well. Now we have a little time between 7-10 p.m. to study or socialize. Before, our time, we didn't have a whole lot of it. |
He better donate some of his money to CSU when he signs his (pro) contract. He's got the whole package. He doesn't use his bulk to bowl you over as much. He'll make you miss out there and he'll make you miss in a small area and always turn some 3-yard runs into 10-yard runs. |

He didn't have command of his pitches like in other games, but he battled and pitched well in tough situations. It was a hard-fought pitching victory for Donnie. He battled and came through with key outs when we needed it, despite not having real good command of his pitches. |
He gets it down out there every night. He's a big guy who really has a great outside touch, real quickness for putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rack and the way he is on the boards offensively and defensively. I've just got to try to stay a step ahead of him. |
He gives us a lot of energy from that standpoint. His anticipation, ability to avoid screens, and accelerate in the passing lanes is unlike any other player that I have ever coached. It is a very deserving record. He has worked hard for it and hopefully he can improve on it. |
He just told us to go out there and do what we do best. I think it would have been better if he was here, though. But Coach Jordan did a good job coaching us tonight. We don't really brag about (our record). We just thank God we've got players who play up to their potential. |
He made a lot of real good pitches and only made a couple of mistakes, even though the home run to Delgado wasn't a mistake. He made a real good pitch. I thought he did a decent job, especially against a team that has some real good bats and is leading the league in hitting. |
He really had things going well after the first quarter. He got his game going and played exceptionally well. When he came out, it took us a minute to regroup. Any time Greg is in foul trouble, it obviously has an impact on our team. We all know that; we just try to survive. |
He really has worked hard on his pass protection, (evident) yesterday taking Keith Newman down the middle, ... Not something he would have done three weeks ago. So he is a very diligent young man. He wants to do well for himself, his family and for his teammates and coaches. |
He showed me the ropes. A lot of the struggles I had in the minors, he's had as a ballplayer. We clicked on that level. We just tried to make a lot of the adjustments I needed to make. Not only on the field, but off the field, how to carry yourself, how to be a professional. |
He wanted somebody [with strong convictions]. I think that's one of the reasons he hired me. He thought I would have strong convictions on guys and tell him. Now, we don't agree on everybody. But we come up with a mutual decision on whether we like a guy or don't like a guy. |
