He brought a lot of energy. I was in awe, just the way he worked. He prepared himself so well. He would hit extra in the cage -- he amazed me. He was one of those guys who you watched and you appreciate how good he is. Until you see him day in and day out, you don't recognize how good he was. |
He certainly is a guy who keeps everything in perspective. He does have the ability to put some of the bad things behind him and go on to the next play. He can pass that on to his teammates when the pressure's on. They can take strength from the fact that he is poised, calm and under control. |
He did a lot of good things. He's one of the great mature young quarterbacks in college football. We didn't win the game. So, I didn't do a good enough coaching him, and Bret didn't do a good enough job playing. We approach it that way, and these guys know that. It's a team thing all the way. |
He gave us some problems early on. But we started dropping our guards back on him as well and negated him. That's really where I thought our guys did a good job tonight. They adjusted when they needed to. Brubaker played hard for us. He was all over the place and getting a lot of loose balls. |
He has great poise and composure for a freshman. For any pitcher, you have to have those traits to be successful. He throws four pitches for strikes, and he'll throw them at any count. His competitive nature is as good as anybody. Plus, you throw in the fact he has the genes to be successful. |
He has not needed to champion the racist preaching of his father and his brothers because people see him anyway as someone who is going to put the whites in their place. It is a crude, primitive utilization of a sentiment deeply rooted in Peru ? because we are a racist country, profoundly so. |
He has to dedicate himself to getting into a little better shape so he can run the floor better, and he will have to be a better leader on the floor, and off the floor. He handles the ball well. He's got great hands, good feet. I think he'll be the best post player around, maybe in the state. |
He interrupted our conversation. I told him that was very unprofessional. I proceeded to walk on across the street, at which time he punched me, I guess, and from there I don't remember much other than a lady in the crowd, I guess just a bystander, who kept hollering, 'He didn't do anything'. |
He is at his best when he is trying to bring people together, like he did last year. But that rhetoric has changed. He now has shifted over far more to the Republican mantra of dig in your heels and fight for those things which ideologically position the party to be able to motivate its base. |
He likes this track and he's got guts. That's probably the best thing about him he's gritty. He's just a real easy horse to take care of; you couldn't ask for a better horse to be around. I'm not a brain surgeon; anyone could train this guy. He does it all himself. I'm very lucky to have him. |
He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time. |
He told me that the Vikings have not yet spoken to other teams about trading me. I shared my disappointment with the lack of communication and the false reports about me demanding more money coming out of Minnesota. I have requested further talks so that we can explore options for the future. |
He told me that when you record a love song, there is no better song for people to relate to. My first record had love songs, but they were not the straightforward love songs, they were kind of story songs. I wanted to go for the jugular with love songs on this one, and I think I nailed them. |
He was a little taken aback a little bit at the beginning of the year confidence-wise and playing people in the corners and controlling people the way he can now. But he gave us a good freshman year. It wasn't like he wasn't ready to play. And he's gotten better and better as it's gone along. |
He was not exactly destined for success. It took him time to find himself, and part of that came about when he moved to Austin. Anyone who knew Louis in his quasi-hippie phase, or as the world's oldest grad student, might find it surprising to see how successful, and influential, he is today. |
