 I was, in essence, boxed in completely by keyboards. That's what was wrong; I was so stacked in with keyboards I never used that no one could ever see me. It was like being in a prison... Mick and I would laugh about it, because he had the same sensation, being stuck behind his drums all night.

 I would think about it. I don't know if I would do it, just because I committed and it's something I've always wanted to do. I would just play that much harder to get those at-bats. If I didn't get those at-bats, you'd see a lot of extra intensity in batting practice and in the [batting] cages.

 I?m just trying to let the game come to me. In practice, I shoot the ball non-stop. I get into a game and I?m just passing and passing and passing. Tonight, when we were getting ready to go out, Brandie looked at me and said, ?You better shoot the ball.? When I had an open shot, I just took it.

 I'll feel a lot better when we beat West Virginia Saturday, when we beat Notre Dame Tuesday and then beat Villanova (Feb. 26) when they come here. You want to win every game. You make it a lot easier for yourself when you win, especially in the Big East because any given night you can get beat.

 I'll never be satisfied with a loss, but I'm satisfied with our effort and the way we're playing. We're playing extremely well considering we're missing a lot of people, and girls are having to play a lot more minutes than their used to. But we're never going to be satisfied with a loss—ever.

 I'm actually his No. 1 fan. Just how he was when he came here last year. He told everybody 'I want Cliff on my team.' ... We know he has our back. Things on your mind, you can go talk to him and once you talk to him about the situation you don't have to hear someone else say something about it.

 I'm encouraged by what I heard today, that he's going to run again, ... He's been known to surprise us, but I think in this instance, he knows what's at stake. He knows what he's gotten into willingly. And I believe he has a sense of mission that I think will direct his decision for California.

 I'm excited to bring this group of players into our program. All of them are very athletic, and that's going to be a great asset for us to have. There is a lot of potential for this class to be productive in the long term, but I think they definitely have the makeup to make an immediate impact.

 I'm excited to meet with Dr. Ross, and I think it's good for our area if we can entice him to play more tournaments out here. We want to start moving on this right now. I think we have the ability to get things organized, to help different organizations come out and enjoy their experience here.

 I'm fresh off a loss. I'm not happy about it. We've got Monday, there's always another day - for the next couple of weeks. If we don't start taking care of it, it will start getting real bad. We've just got to come out against Louisville and get that win. We've got to get that win; it's a must.

 I'm from the theater, where the process of creating a character from the ground up is something that's not imposed on him. We started working on it months in advance, and we rehearsed for two weeks, and even the look of his apartment came out of discussions with him and the production designer.

 I'm going to have maybe 50 unforced errors one day, but I'm going to also have 50 winners that day. Maybe I can add variation to my game, but I'm going to win matches only when I hit those winners. If I win matches by moon-balling, then I'm not going to satisfy myself the way I played that day.
