[We do know that McPhee will try to find those puppies a good home, and then he, like the rest of the Capitals, can settle in and get ready to watch the playoffs on TV.] I'm not going to be rooting for anyone particular, ... But I do have prediction: One of our guys is going to win the Stanley Cup. |
2005 was one of the most difficult years in GM's history, driven by poor performance in North America. Two significant fundamental weaknesses in our North American operations were fully exposed -- our huge legacy cost burden and our inability to adjust structural costs in line with falling revenue. |
A celebrity's opinion should not be given any more weight than anyone else's, unless there is some special expertise the celebrity brings to a subject. That expertise should involve real life, as opposed to having once portrayed a doctor or a mayor or a scientist in a movie or on a television show. |
A lot of schools are afraid of the 'B' on our chest. It's a great thing to have. When they look over, they say, 'Oh no, I have a Bedford kid.' But we also have to live up to that. Sometimes it works against you because they're always going to give us their best shot. But I look at it as a positive. |
A lot of times, people will try harder, will do more. They'll spend longer hours doing something involved with the farming (thinking) if I just try harder, it's going to turn out OK. One risk we run when people work longer hours is a greater chance of injury, maybe taking risks they shouldn't take. |
A lot of times, you might think you're just playing football for yourself, for your teammates. But it did make me realize how passionate the Pittsburgh Steelers' fans feel about our team. In 25-degree weather, they came out to congratulate us, and share in the accomplishment. It was pretty special. |
a problem for the liberal groups and senators who want to turn this into a spectacle. . . . When the media have other serious things to focus their attention on, they tend to spend less time and less ink on the tit-for-tat, he said/she said elements that frequently accompany a confirmation hearing. |
A professional society that has strong ties to both the industrial and research communities would be invaluable. Enhancing the R&D contribution to ISA would enhance benefits to all ISA Members. This could help make ISA more competitive as a professional society as the economy continues to struggle. |
A timetable will help the terrorists, will encourage them that they could defeat a superpower of the world and Iraqi people, ... We don't want to do anything without the agreement with the Americans because we don't want to give any signal to the terrorists that our will to defeat them is weakened. |
Action taken by Japan today to halt U.S. beef imports is an unfortunate temporary setback to U.S. cattle producers, particularly in light of recent success to re-open the market. The vertebral column found in the shipments does not pose a health risk since the animal was less than 30 months of age. |
Adam will be with us for two weeks and we are aware of the problem with the registration. This even applies to a reserve game and as yet we have still not received the necessary clearance from the FA for him to play against Crystal Palace on Wednesday. Suffice to say we are addressing this problem. |
Advertisers work on the premise that younger people haven't established a brand preference yet — haven't decided on a car, haven't decided on a fast food restaurant, and that they are more likely to be influenced by advertising. Whereas older viewers have already chosen their brand of toothpaste. |
After 9/11, people thought Bush's responses were just right and his ratings soared. It's just not clear that that's the case here. The views about this president are pretty hard right now, so I don't think we'll see a significant change. They're pro or opposed to him. The country is deeply divided. |
After every play when we were watching the film it was, 'Good play, Keith. Nice play, Traylor.' We heard that about 10 times, ... He dominated every time he put his hand in the dirt. He dominated the whole left side of (Denver's) line a couple of times. I don't think I've ever seen him play better. |
Albertson's is truly a value stock, the third-largest grocery chain, with a very stable predictable business with 29 years of higher earnings. The stock was really clobbered since they announced a merger last year that didn't quite work out. But it's still a wonderful company, at 10 times earnings. |
