I have resigned from MSG (Madison Square Garden Network) and have been let go from NBC. I fully understand the position in which the networks found themselves due to my very painful situation. In the interest of my family, my friends and my many supporters, I step aside with deep humility and seek to reconstruct my personal and professional life. |
I haven't looked at it in that way. I've just been positive. I mean, we're all competing for the same thing. I mean, he's a friend of mine. We hang out all the time. We just do the same job, so somebody's going to have to play. Either starting or in the rotation, it doesn't matter. And, if we're in there together, we've got to protect each other. |

I kind of think his knowledge of what it's going to take, what we need to do, are going to hopefully pay dividends for us. But we realize Carolina has been in the same position that we have, maybe a couple more times than us. ... It's going to be a great game. There's two coaches and two great teams that are going to be pitted against each other. |
I know what they're going through. It's a difficult situation. It looks good on paper, but it doesn't always work that way. When they made the deal, I thought they were going to be more athletic. They scare me to death because they have talent. Who knows, they can win one or two games and then win five or six in a row. That's what happened to us. |
I love my voice and if I lost it I would be devastated, but I just don't want to live my life like that. I am thinking of giving up smoking for general health reasons, and it was really embarrassing last weekend when I had overdone it and couldn't sing at all, which meant that I had to mime at a big outdoor festival. I felt really bad about that. |
I loved doing Elly May. She was a slice out of my own life. And of course the The Beverly Hillbillies was a story about the American Dream. No matter who tried to slicker us or take advantage of us, we always came out on top. We were never the losers. So the right attitude was important. We set a good examples. The Hillbillies set high standards. |
I made a $50 bet -- a lot of money then -- with my coach that I'd win a medal. I woke up that morning and thought, 'don't get to the bottom and wish you had a second chance, because in the Olympics, you don't get a second chance.' I was so in the moment; I wanted to feel it, I wanted to be in it -- I've used that metaphor for the rest of my life. |
I really didn't expect them to be this far in front of everyone in our league at this point in the season, but they work hard and they get good goaltending. So much of their game is played in the offensive zone. They don't have to rely too much on their defensive zone. They have a young defense - they don't have to rely on them to play that well. |
I really think this town is ready to embrace this team like they did the one in '86. It's early, but if they keep this going, it's going to be a special season. New Yorkers know when guys are out there busting their butts and playing good baseball. They aren't guys looking to hit the three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to get the headline. |
I remember the day I finally got the Falcon after missing out at Christmas. They were like gold dust and impossible for Santa to find, ... I got it for my birthday and was the happiest kid alive. Many of my friends would meet up after school and play out battles in the street, gardens, sandpits, forests or anywhere our imaginations could take us. |
I respect doctors, and one reason is that they have grasped this eternal truth and are against sickness and for health. Consciously or unconsciously, they have a pretty good theology of healing. Sometimes I wish we Christians had such a good theology of healing. Then we might be less inclined to argue about whether it's God's will to heal or not. |
I respect the talent that he has. Whether he and I have the same outlook on things is different. Who knows what's right or wrong? I'm here as part of Team USA and that's what I'm going to do, whether it's the team pursuit or practicing with everybody. I'm trying to create positive vibe so we can come out and represent out country the best we can. |
I think if we don't make any trades, or we don't change the team at all, you have to look at playing Johan (Petro) and Robert (Swift) and throwing them the ball, putting sets in for them, developing them even further, getting Damien (Wilkins) on the floor even more. I think that is the direction we would go, total development of the younger guys. |
I think it is as simple, just a simple fact that they're pretty good and always have (been). I think if you take a look at every other team in the league, there has been some slipping. Some teams have slipped and had years when they've had down years, but I can't remember a year when Michigan has been down. Their down years are pretty good years. |
