I'd rather not get popped. I like to get tackled. But it comes with the territory. The thing that's gratifying is when you get popped and you get a good first down, or you get a touchdown and make the big play to keep the drive moving and keep the team energized. As a receiver, you know you're going to get hit in the NFL. There's no way around it. |
I'd use the market dips as an opportunity to get into quality companies. There are a lot of good stocks, some in the technology arena, some elsewhere that are down 20 to 40 percent from their 52-week high as established just a few months ago. On days when stocks are trading off, I'd use that as a very compelling rationale for a fishing expedition, |
I'm just trying to go out there and stop the puck. ... Sometimes things just happen instinctively; you don't really think about the game. I think that's when you play your best, when you're not thinking out there. Things have gone well. I can't explain why, but you can see the team is really starting to play well now and that's really nice to see. |
I'm looking around, and the coaches are screaming for a returner, and I'm like, 'Put me in! Put me in!' ... After a second or two, I popped in my mouthpiece. I kept walking on the field, and nobody stopped me. You could tell (Jones) didn't want me out there, but nobody was out there (as a kick returner). He gave me the look, and I knew it was OK. |
I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I feel great about our quarterback situation, ... I'd be remiss to say something like that. I feel this, though, I feel we have the best player at that position playing, and that's very important. There were times last year we really didn't know that, and we had to go through a process during the season. |
I'm not sure yet. I haven't played with him, ... I've played against him and he's had some pretty good games. Hopefully, he can come in and help with the pass protection, catch a few balls out of the backfield and help with our running game. We haven't much of a running game all year but hopefully we can it going. We started to a little last game. |

I'm sure it's a good thing for both of us because we're both pretty familiar with what we do and, when you get to this point of the year, you don't change anything. We're both pretty familiar with each other and I don't expect too many surprises and I'm sure they won't get any surprises from us because we'll do the same things we've done all year. |
I've added way too much to (the rivalry), I know that. But you know what, I have so much respect for what Marvin (Lewis) and Mike Brown have done in Cincinnati and the team they have put together. Without question they are there. They are on the cusp of a championship year. We realize that every time we play them it's a battle, it always has been. |
I've always said all along: I've got as much talent as anybody. I can hit any shot, but I've got a 2-cent brain. I don't have the mental (side of golf). I just wasn't given the mental ability to play this game as well as my physical part, and that's always held me back. But I'm not afraid to admit it. Some guys are afraid to admit it, but I'm not. |
I've asked leaders of the Teamsters Union and the United Parcel Service to meet with me today at the Labor Department and they have both agreed. I intend to talk with each party individually to find out what it will take to move these talks forward and to urge greater flexibility and a willingness to compromise to get back to the bargaining table, |
I've been proud to be a lifelong Chicago Cub and still be with the Cubs. That's always been important to me and I think it's always been special. It's allowed me to have Chicago as a home; my family considers Chicago a home. There's not too many guys that spend their whole career with one team and I think it's very fortunate and a blessing for me. |
I've been thinking hard about the Apple product-development process since I left. If you follow my [guidelines], it will guarantee good design. But Steve Jobs doesn't want good design. He wants great design, and my method will never give you that. That takes a rare leader, who can bring both the cohesion and commitment and style. And Steve has it. |
I've realized a lot more how much I missed tennis, ... That's the whole completely different attitude that I have now. No matter what I do, I'm going for it because it could be over. If I get another wrist injury, if I have anything else, my career could be over very soon. That's why I want to go out there and just enjoy every shot that I can hit. |
