I don't even like to talk about this business about an ethnic and racial balancing act. I think it's a bunch of hokum. What people are concerned about is who is going to help this city move forward in a manner that benefits their families. They don't care about Adolfo being Hispanic, although that's obvious. They want to know if I will do a good job. |
I don't know any different, so I can't say if it's any easier or any harder. ... I was very nervous when I came down. I had never been a head coach. They had lost only one game (in regulation), and they took half the team on me, especially the scoring. I'm thinking to myself 'How am I going to match this (start)?' I'm enjoying it. Winning is helping. |

I don't see someone new being in place real quickly. The job is to choose the absolutely right person, no matter how long that takes. And a lot of [owners] definitely have a lot of ideas on the profile of that person, or who it should be. If I was Paul, I wouldn't be planning much travel for the next few months. I don't think he's going anywhere yet. |
I don't think for a long time my parents even knew I was wrestling, even though they had arranged it. I wasn't getting those questions from home, I was getting them from Mr. Gray. That became such a positive relationship for me. All of a sudden, I wanted to see him and tell him how things were going. He was a role model - somebody I could look up to. |
I don't think it's so much that we won, I think it's how we won and the players we had and the way they held themselves and conducted themselves on and off the ice. I think that, sometimes, is almost more important than winning. We did it with so much class, with such good feelings in the city and amongst the fans. That's what really made it special. |
I don't think you can really look ahead right now in this organization, ... I don't want to look ahead, because I don't know what's going to happen. Because it's just obvious something is going to happen. I'm just looking forward to helping the team win this season and go out with a bang and have some good numbers on my resume when the season's over. |

I don't want to sell Dean, he's a big player for us. The board don't want to sell and the supporters don't want to sell either but there's a lot of factors. We've been looking at players [anyway] and that's with Dean staying at the club. There's a good feel about more than doubling our money but it's all about the game of football and we want points. |
I expected a close game, a very physical game. But I think we stretched them out there in the first quarter by hitting a lot of threes and then we started getting a lot of offensive rebounds, and I think it just kind of snowballed from there. We knew we could run some sets and I told them before the game, if the shots are dropping, let's run with it. |
I feel like I can go out there and outplay those guys but at the end of the day politics play a lot into it. You look at some of the guys on the roster, they have big contracts, shoe deals, commercials and everything, and I feel like I've been an underground player my whole career. I think it will play a factor once they come down to their final cut. |
I felt pretty good. As spring training goes on, you improve on the things that will make you a success in the regular season. Today, I did a few things right and a few things I feel like I can improve on. I feel like I'm headed in the right direction. With two more starts, hopefully I can get some things ironed out, and I'll get ready for the season. |
I find this more troubling than deception in the political campaigns. The level of misunderstanding and the consequences of misunderstanding can be much more dramatic. If we don't hold the right people accountable and the right processes accountable, we'll risk having another catastrophe without real preparedness, and more people will die needlessly. |
I first met her in probably 1994, ... The [national] team was going through this transition of getting more support, yet contractually we didn't have a lot of say. ... I had this incredible meeting with Billie Jean King, this all-day roundtable discussion, and the theme of the day was, look, if you want things to change, you've got to do it yourself. |
I guess we still look forward to any other input, but it looks like the budget will be workable at 3.5 mills, ... I don't think we need any more than that right now. We can't go any lower than that unless we generate money somewhere else, and I don't know where that somewhere else would be. The millage is where we need it to be to do what we need to. |
