She is a veteran. She is a national champion so she knows how to handle things like that. I do understand sometimes size makes a difference and we need to help her. For a long time, she is down there holding her own until somebody can get down there and relieve her in a sense. But if Barb is down there, she is going to do her best to contain the offensive player. |
She's the model for one of the most celebrated sculptures in history, which is, by anybody's account, the definition of beauty. And here she is old, tired of life, like somebody ready to depart this world. ... I think the questions raised by these works are still very pertinent. We're in a time when it's not OK to look old, when everyone wants to look 20 forever. |
Since joining President Bush's administration in 2001, it has been a profound honor to serve our nation, the magnificent men and women of the United States Navy and Marine Corps and those of the Department of Homeland Security. I am grateful to the president for asking me to continue serving our armed forces as the deputy to [Defense] secretary [Donald] Rumsfeld. |
Since the court will not take swift action to order union officials to inform union members of their rights, this informational campaign will help pick up the slack. Union officials have been fighting tooth and nail to keep teachers in the dark. They naturally fear a revolt from teachers opposing the union hierarchy's extraordinary $60 million campaign this fall. |

Some people look at it as a negative because of the way they hold the ball or whatever, but every quarterback is different. If that's the way he's programmed, then so be it. If he's successful with it, why change it? Over the long haul, quarterback is so hard to figure out anyway, seeing how many first-round picks don't make it, and how many lower-round picks do. |
Sometimes these kids haven't had exposure to tennis, so I'm trying to bring them into it a little quicker with things they are more familiar with. Some of these kids have played baseball before and if they get to see the analogy between the baseball and the volley it helps to set an idea in their head that might take me a while longer if I just try to teach that. |

Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave. Our lives are measured by these |
take an average hotel worker in my home state of Nevada. He's married and has two children, and earns $25,000 a year. Under the Bush-Republican plan, he would get nothing -- not one cent in tax relief. Now take a rich stockbroker in New York who made millions trading other people's money. Under the Republican plan, he'd win the lottery. I don't think that's fair. |
That's the hard part that people don't realize. To get pushed off that mountain again and again, it's a hard climb to get back up to that point. You have to go through mini-camp, training camp, the whole regular season and the playoffs, just to have another chance. We've got confidence that we can get it done, but it's rough. It's a hard climb. A very hard climb. |
The 747 can land with no problem, but depending on their destination, if they're going nonstop to Brisbane, they have to put on so much fuel that they increase their weight. This means they need more runway. But they can go to London, Paris, or Tokyo. And we have every day corporate airplanes like the Gulf Stream Five that take off for international destinations. |
The agreement commits one of the most successful names in the sport's history to Formula One after 2008, and is an important step towards protecting against a divisive split that could undermine motor racing's premier series. I hope our decision will encourage the remainder of the Formula One community to join us and resolve any final details by working together. |
The best you could do is forget about it and move on. You grow up. You relax, and when you relax you get more mature. In the game, you're going to make mistakes. You never expect D-Lee to miss a ball like that with how good he is. Cedeno makes an error, [so] I went over there and slapped him on the back. You just give him support, tell them to keep their head up. |
The board of directors is extremely pleased with how this project has evolved over the last five years, culminating in today's vote. Over the last two days, this committee has held discussions in great detail, utilizing the research and statistics now available to determine who deserves baseball's highest honor a plaque in the Hall of Fame Gallery in Cooperstown. |
