I would have liked to run a lot more laps today to continue with the good set-up direction we found yesterday, so it's disappointing that the wind was so strong. But at least we've got a good base setting for this circuit now so have a good starting point at the race here in a few weeks. I'm feeling totally at home on the FP1 and around this circuit and have just really enjoyed testing these last four days. |
I wouldn't say I use them as a measuring stick, ... It's definitely a form of motivation. Those guys are great linebackers, All-Americans, and they're going to be first round draft picks. You can't take anything away from them. The situation they're in right now, that's where we want to be at. Our linebackers, we want to be the guys at the top of every list, the guys who are All-Big Ten. |
I'll say it again: It's the Indianapolis Colts that are coming into our stadium with a mentality that our quarterback is going to run his offense at the line 80 percent of the time, ... I can't imagine what that means to Baltimoreans to see that Colts helmet in this stadium and them thinking they can run their offense on the line. Fans, the challenge is there. Keep up the noise because we can wear them out. |
I'm a huge fan of Neil Young, and those great albums of his sound so alive. Many CDs today sound perfect, quite boring. I wanted to have that life in the songs. To me Feeler was quite a safe-sounding album. I was quite angry about that for a long time because I let it happen. Of course I judge it more harshly than anyone else; it's not a bad record. But I learnt I have to give more direction on what I want. |
I'm not going to lie to you. There were some times -- and I think everybody knows when that was because we had to move some players -- that I don't think our plan was working. We were locked into bad contracts and ... it was time for significant changes. Things are working much better now because I think we're working our plan better. Quite frankly, we've got better people in place to execute the plan, too. |
I'm very happy with our guys right now. I'm very happy with how they're going about their business. I know what's expected of us based on what's been written, etc. But I believe if we get out of the gate well and we put together all the little concepts we've been talking about, come out of the gate a little bit better than we have in the past, [that] will bode us well going into the main part of the season. |
I've been lucky to be caught by the right coaches at the right time when I was young who were able to instill in me the value of a professional work ethic. And that was something that I needed. I don't think anybody can push themselves without some help and there were some good lessons along the way. So for me, it was always been a lifestyle because of the coaching and examples that I've had over the years. |
I've found the last couple of years exciting and rewarding but also the most difficult of my life. If you are the product and your life is spent in self-examination, you devour praise and criticism 24 hours a day and you forget the thing that drives the world is outside of you. I don't know any other business so shrouded in Schadenfreude. The knives are always out, it just depends which way they're pointed. |
I've learned a lot about New Hampshire over the last couple of races, ... It's flat and fast and I think I'm improving with every lap that I run there. We accomplished making the 'Chase' but now it's time to focus on going after the championship. We have a great team and great race cars so if we can run consistently up front I don't think there's any reason why we couldn't be in contention for the big prize. |

In 2002, my opponent used the issue of my being gay against me. The news media reported it widely. Yet I unseated him. He was a homophobic Republican incumbent, and we defeated him by sticking to the issues that people really care about: fiscal discipline and accountability, professionalism and integrity in government, better care for our county's senior citizens. Those are the issues that matter to people. |

In the customer care space there are a lot of systems that store data -- CRM, trouble ticketing, order entry, order management. This data needs to be pulled out and made accessible to the customer care agent. We come into play where we are about seamlessly encapsulating the back-end systems and making that xml data available to front-end applications. It automates business processes moving away from manual. |
In the last three years I have seen crime skyrocket, heard complaints from citizens that calls are going unanswered and not investigated and I have seen the clearance rate of criminal investigations decline. I know I can change this around and get back to the basics of 'serve and protect' where all calls are answered, crime will be reduced and cases will be solved with the format I will initiate as sheriff. |
In the new destination states, it's a small share of the population, but it's growing fast. Immigrants coming in to these states tend to be lower income, more likely to be in low-skill, blue-collar jobs, and tend to be more likely to be undocumented (illegal) than the ones in the traditional magnet states. It's no wonder there's a public reaction to the new immigrants coming in these new destination states. |
