He can play regularly if we have injuries. He is good off the bench. He's a good makeup guy in the clubhouse. Frank Robinson and I went to a Lakers game at the Staples Center on Friday night and we talked about how much we need to improve the bench, and we talked about how Michael Tucker would fit in so well. We certainly have a need for another outfielder, and we certainly think we have improved our bench. |
He's a big kid at heart. When the pressure is there, when times are tough and you need to make a big play, he might make a comment where he loosens everyone up and get things going. He's done a great job of handling everything. This year, he's been in every scenario possible -- coming from behind, doing the two-minute drill, he was in a shootout. He's experienced all that and he's going to continue to grow. |
I absolutely hate it. I just hate it. I don't want to hear any comparisons between me and him. Enough is enough. He had a brilliant career, obviously, one of the greatest careers ever, if not the greatest, and I'm here playing with my team and we're trying to do great things. Just let the past be the past. Just embrace what I'm doing. Stop trying to compare it to what he did. Just enjoy what's going on now. |
I am delighted to be announcing the addition of a second Q9 data centre in Calgary. Our rapid success in this market has exceeded our expectations. The decision to add capacity in Calgary is reflective of our commitment to organic growth and our belief that strong demand for Q9 services will continue to grow. This announcement, combined with our Toronto expansion, positions us extremely well for the future. |
I can't see why someone with their financial house in order would want one of those loans. People who are pushing to get payments clipped so desperately may not have the resources to deal with any problems that may arise. Many of these cars will be out of warranty at the time that there are still loan payments. Maybe the better answer is to buy less car. You don't always have to go up in class and features. |

I expect some slow improvement in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita will be helpful to the D-FW area in a couple of ways. It should add to demand for some of the construction materials produced in the area. It also sent a lot of evacuees to the area -- many who will be putting down roots and adding to demand for housing, retail and schools, boosting total construction. |
I had a good start and was able to negotiate the traffic to keep the car in the lead. The car was handling great and the Porsche power was keeping me out front. When the caution came on lap 30 we had just passed pit entry and we were beaten to the stop by a few cars. The team did a fast pit stop and Mike was able to make up ground. He was the man on the last lap, a great battle and a great win for the team. |
I have more power in the later rounds. People used to say I have no endurance; that I was only strong for three or four rounds. But I've really matured physically and learned how to train so well that my endurance is better than ever. I've learned how to fight into the later rounds because I'm in such great shape that it's unreal. I used to be afraid a fight would go into the later rounds, now I welcome it. |
I have so many memories, both at Stanford and in the coaching profession in general, ... I have been honored to have coached some of the finest athletes in the world, and we've competed at the very highest levels intercollegiately and internationally. But, many of my memories simply revolve around the experience of working with student-athletes on a daily basis. That has been as big of a thrill as anything. |
I hope you can see that I love Minnesota, ... You know, all the women from the mines talked to me about the beauty of the land. The idea that it has always been there, this mystical place that is scary and seductive and that, for many years, they never saw the inside of. So I tried to show that this land is very beautiful and that, even though a lot of ugly things happened, so did a lot of beautiful things. |
I mean, if you think about a writer, you're going to write a novel that takes several months, but there's never a time you're doing anything more than shoving one word up against the next. And clusters of those words make sentences and paragraphs and a chapter. You just try to maintain the same voice and the same attitude so it sounds like the same person wrote the last chapter that wrote the first chapter. |
I met with doctors after returning home to Orlando [in September], and they fixed it, even though it took them four sessions. They used a new therapy called 'Body Talk' and told me I probably got the problems in my hip because of the things I've gone through in my personal life. It was a mental thing that made me fragile in a physical way. All was fine after September. I can swing the clubs like I want now. |
I never knew I never knew that everything was falling through That everyone I knew was waiting on a queue To turn and run when all I needed was the truth But that's how it's got to be It's coming down to nothing more than apathy I'd rather run the other way than stay and see The smoke and who's still standing when it clears and Everyone knows I'm in Over my head. |
I support creating a nonpartisan Office of Public Integrity. When individual members appear to have broken the rules, they should be investigated by an independent professional. We need a nonpartisan office that can investigate allegations of wrongdoing. Federal agencies have Inspectors General and the executive branch has an Office of Public Integrity. The Congress should be able to police its own members. |
