It's been a great year. I've got a team that plays the way I love to coach. I love to full-court press. We play five guards. We love to run. I've got a team that shoots 50 percent, and I love shooting the basketball. This has been a fantastic team. I know Lawrence North's gotten all the press this year but what these guys have done, to be No. 2 in the state, win 20 games and hopefully some more . . . they've just been unbelievable. |
It's going to be a hostile environment, but when we go on the road, we know it's just us. That's all we have. I feel like we're a good road team. St. Joe's was a big win for us - that was a statement game. We're more mature as a team. We're more together. On the road, you might not have a lot of fans. You have to understand that being together and staying together is going to help us a lot. If we stay together, anything can happen. |
It's good that they (management members) said they have gotten some good feedback from the Department of Education. But the deal could run into some snags. The rules for these deals state that if the acquiring company doesn't have a record of running a school, for 12 months it can't open new locations or introduce new classes. It could make the buyers increase the amount of equity in the deal, or require sizeable letters of credit. |
It's hard to always come from behind, and it can wear you down. But we're going to get better in the beginning part of the game. Those things run in cycles. We'll settle down, we'll pitch better. We'll get through the first five to six [innings] better. It is hard to consistently try to come from behind. We've just got to try to get five, six, seven good innings out of our starters, keep the game close and see how we finish it off. |
It's not all passed along, ... it can't all be passed along. Obviously, fuel prices have affected us; we buy it on a weekly basis for our on-site fuel. Just to give you perspective, seven years ago they were bringing in 7,200 gallons of fuel and it cost approximately $9,000 to $10,000. You're pushing $20,000 right now. We're losing some profits. Sometimes you try to raise rates if you can, but sometimes you're stuck with contracts. |
It's time to start thinking of parents and families as community builders and not just as service recipients. While the craniofacial community may be small by comparison to other health issue communities like heart disease or cancer or diabetes, we are nonetheless a community. Don’t underestimate individuals with facial differences or their parents – what they have learned in their lives can be put to meaningful use to help others. |
Key to the adaptive enterprise is the ability to quickly transform business processes and for these changes to be easily reflected in the supporting Enterprise Applications. From an Enterprise Application perspective the importance of gaining a good understanding of the current processes cannot be underestimated, as on many occasions the software is unfairly blamed for problems that are in fact due to inefficient or poor processes. |
Kids can get bored just looking at things. But if they can touch it, throw it, pull it or push it, they really enjoy it. I should know this. I have two children (Tyler, 10, and Alyssa, 4). Right now our target-age group is up to probably 7-year-olds. But we get kids 8, 9, 10 and 11 who have a really good time with it. I want kids to walk out of here saying they've had a really good time. For me, it's really rewarding to see smiles. |

Maybe it is the war or the movies or because this generation was bred on radio comedy, but I found out that they want bombastic stuff with a lot of drive. They have little time for whimsy. It varies, of course, from town to town. The Hartford audience was sharper on some things than the Buffalo audience. Political jokes go, depending upon how the community votes. A Negro audience will pick up subtle comedy quicker than anyone else. |
Michael's performance was pretty good given his position early in the running order. We are therefore reasonably happy with his performance. Unfortunately, we had some problems with Rubens' car, which was not as good in the afternoon as it had been in the morning. Now we will have to investigate to see why that happened and hope we can have a good race. It's a shame, as Rubens could have been in a much stronger qualifying position. |
My dad served in the [Army] for 23 years, and a couple of people I talked to grew up Army brats like I did and they continued to pursue it. I have a lot of respect for them. They are protecting our country and sacrificing their lives. And they have families they don't get to see a lot just from being deployed and going over and going over and serving our country. So they have much respect from me and I'm sure a lot of other people. |
Obviously, it's a great thing to honor your country and to get that type of experience on such a big stage, but we're a little bit selfish in wanting those guys back as soon as possible. With so many new faces in camp this year, ideally you'd like to have all of them around as much as possible to establish chemistry and continuity in your lineup. But it's a great experience for Vernon, who's getting the most playing time of anyone. |
