He showed flashes of it early. Second year, like everybody, is an adjustment-type of year. This year, he is showing what kind of pitcher he is. He is just dominant. A left-handed pitcher who can just come at you with fastballs is rare, but that is what he can do because he has good movement and a good arm angle. He throws strikes. He's a good pitcher. He's great for the game. He's a good person, having fun out there. He works hard. |
He was hanging his head, his coat wouldn't turn - it was almost like he was depressed, ... Richard decided he was craving attention, so he moved him to a paddock near their house. His wife and daughter started feeding and playing with him every day. The horse perked right up, and when Richard went to training him, he was better than ever. After his second five-eighths, Richard told me, 'This horse has another Breeders' Cup in him.' |
He's kind of like that sheep dog that keeps showing up in the cartoon, ... He punches in, punches out, he doesn't have a whole lot to say. But you look up at the board and he's got double-digit homers [10], he's got [63] RBIs. As I've said all year long, he's hit the ball harder, with more consistency, and made more hard outs than anybody on this ballclub right now. Anytime you've got Todd Helton on your ballclub, that's something. |
He's young. We all were like that. You're not the type of goalie he is unless you are that competitive and have that drive to be the best. It's a learning process to where you get over that and you worry about it after the game but the next day it's a new day. It's not always easy. But with his work ethic and the way he does things I don't worry. Obviously his mental approach is something he's going to get stronger and stronger at. |

His biggest message was that war crimes cannot have a statute of limitations, ... These people needed to know they would be brought to justice. Even though many of those responsible for the crimes of the Holocaust were never brought to justice, they never had a peaceful night from the day Simon Wiesenthal raised his voice. His determined leadership in the fight against anti-Semitism and all forms of prejudice will be sorely missed. |
Hunters in this stage are always learning new techniques and improving their skills in an effort to become better hunters. They tend to be more focused on one targeted species and spend countless hours in the field. They are usually more interested in applying management and harvest techniques, such as intensive fertilization of forage crops or limiting the buck harvest in a deer herd to improve age structure and antler production. |

I didn't even have fun to break anything today. That's how I felt, you know. Today's such a day when, you know... Even if somebody told me, 'Break,' I wouldn't break. You just... But I don't know. With me, anything is possible. When I come on the court, you know, anything happens. So they always expect something, something is gonna happen. But today, nothing happen. Today was show but no actors in the show, you know. Disappointing. |
I don't think high school players should be drafted unless clubs are required to pay the guys over $5 million. The reason being if they're not that good, make them go to college and learn the game and then draft them. But if you draft a high school player you have to guarantee his future. And if the player is not that good the team won't take the risk. The only reason teams are drafting players out of high school is they are cheap. |
I don't think we're in a situation at all where anybody's overreacting here. I mean, obviously 2-3 is not where we thought we'd be at this point in the season, especially since I feel like we have a really good team and I feel like we're better than we were last year, ... But I think our attitude is and the way we look at it is, if we win this game we're sitting at 3-3, which is exactly where we were sitting at this time last year. |
I look at the Tucker incident. That was pretty much one-on-one and he whacked him twice, gets fined and plays the next game. Arty hasn't done anything like this. He just plays hard. That's all we want the league to understand. Yes, he sticks out because he skates, one of the best skaters in the league, and he's big and he's willing. We feel that is a tremendous asset for our team and the league for that type of play to be going on. |
I succumbed to temptation and became a scientific administrator, first as Technical Director of the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center from 1982 to 1984, and then Director from 1984 to 1999. The job of a laboratory director is much different from the job of a physicist, particularly in a time of tight budgets. It is much easier to do physics when someone else gets the funds than it is to get the funds for others to do the research. |
I think because they're good players, ... I think everybody in here has seen Quincy Morgan in two and a half years light it up at times. He's had multiple (three) 100-yard games. Andre' Davis, I don't know what his reception-to-touchdown ratio is (one TD every seven catches), but it has to be good. ... When it's all said and done, you need guys doing precisely what they're supposed to do, and those guys did it letter-perfect today. |
I think women have the advantage over men - they tend to be much more in touch with their feelings and understand the dynamics of how relationships work. Men are much more cold-blooded and less willing to explore what makes a marriage or a relationship work. We like to deal in results and women are interested primarily in the process of the relationship, the little things which are actually the basics of how men and women interact. |
