We closely monitored the evolving market and made every effort to participate in a way that was fair and legal, ... Williams does not have and it never has had strategies to engage in illegal or improper market behavior. In fact, Williams prohibited its traders from selling power outside California for resale into California for the purpose of evading the state's price caps even though we did not conclude that the activity was illegal. |
We felt like before the season started, leaving out all the injuries, we felt like we were going to be a pretty good team. We started out slow due to injuries. It kind of set us back a little bit. But winning that home game (against the Boston Celtics), then going on a six-game road trip, that was either going to make us or break us. It was really going to determine our season. We were hungry, and we were really confident and went 5-1. |
We give out more certificates than are used. One of the reasons is that some people don't get around to making the appointment for their animal. The certificates are good until March 31, but that does not mean the coupons have to be used by then. The appointment just has to be made by that date. We have vets doing the surgeries in April, May and sometimes as late as June because they get so overwhelmed with appointments after Spay Day. |
We have a lot we need to improve on, ... We've got a long ways to go. Certainly, I don't think anybody here feels like we're satisfied with our passing game or our rushing game right now, so I think you try to do a good job of analyzing it. But certainly our work, and what we're concentrating on, are ways to get more production. I would say across the board we need to step it up. I don't think anyone is satisfied with what we're doing. |
We hope that with the appointment of the commander we will all help the Palestinian government and the Interior Ministry to ensure the security of the public and the security of its property and aid in imposing order and security in the territories of the Palestinian Authority. But all of these things will not prevent us and other resistance organizations from continuing to resist, in an organized manner, the occupation and its crimes. |
We moved the ball better. Lads seemed more calm on the ball. People were moving off the ball for each other. Being unselfish. That's what we've got to do. People have to run off the ball, not because they want to get it. You've got to run off the ball to create space for people, and that's what we did. Especially in the second half. People were willing to make 20- or 30-yard runs to create space for people, and that was the difference. |
We must tell it to the world that the higher education is necessary to the best agriculture. We must tell our friends of our enthusiasm for the generous life of the country. We must say that we believe in our ability to make good use of every lesson which the University has given us. We must say to every man that our first love is steadfast, our hopes are high, and our enthusiasm is great. Our hearts are so full that we must celebrate. |
We want to go ahead and (get) the voting system that will make us compliant. We won't change our primary system. We'll have maybe one device in each polling place, maybe one touch screen or auto mark device. It takes a hard ballot, slides up into this unit and it marks the hard ballot. Earphones can tell the voter what's on the ballot, and there are (oversized) keys for the blind folks. They push a button and the ballot comes back out. |
We will continue to invest in whatever the laws of semiconductor physics will allow on a 32-bit architecture for servers and workstations. As long as we can deliver benefit and value and meet customer needs, 32-bit processors will be available. We will introduce Cascades (a 32-bit upgrade) at the end of this year and Foster (another 32-bit upgrade) next year, and then we show (on our roadmap) some unnamed bubbles beyond that into 2001. |
We wish Pedro nothing but the best going forward both on the field and off the field, ... He pitched with every ounce of his being for the Red Sox over the course of 216 games. Some of those performances were among the most memorable in Red Sox history. Who will ever forget the 1999 All-Star game? He has earned everything that he has accomplished, including his World Series ring and his reputation as one of the greatest who ever lived. |
We'll be fine. We've just got to get ready for the tournament now. This is what we played all season for is this moment. The next game we lose, I'm done, so I have to make sure I go out and know that we gave it our all and we lost instead of saying we played bad in the second half. We don't want to go out with a bad taste in our mouth. I'm just looking forward to getting to the tournament and making a special run. I think we still can. |
We're seeing industry-wide demand for solutions to make compliance sustainable and, at the same time, more efficient and more effective. Many companies are beginning to act on improvement opportunities identified through their Sarbanes-Oxley efforts. Increasingly, companies are undertaking projects to better leverage technology to improve information quality, automate internal controls and enhance monitoring and reporting capabilities. |
We've really tried to maintain integrity in our business relationships. Keeping customers satisfied brings referrals and that is where at least 75 percent of our business comes from. The wedding business has been a big boost for us. I love doing weddings and soon discovered that not many businesses are doing weddings anymore because they require handling so many details. But we love doing it, and it's been a vital part of our business. |
What a difference three months makes. This is strong news for our economy and Bay Area workers. Last quarter, with the hurricanes and spike in energy costs, local confidence plunged to the worst level in 33 months, and many survey respondents were considering postponing new hiring. As we suspected, that now appears to have been only a momentary shock, and the Bay Area business community expects the region's economy to steadily improve. |
