It's exciting that several new doors of opportunity are opening for Ryan. He is starting to receive calls encouraging his application to various colleges. Several of these universities offer sports scholarships for their wheelchair basketball teams and track and field programs. The experience of organizing and managing his studies around his aggressive travel schedule has really developed Ryan's level of independence and responsibility. |
It's something we've wanted to do for a long time, ... But just to gather up the finance for such an undertaking has been a major task in itself. The thing with Synge is that his life was short and all the plays were written within a nine-year period, so they represent his life's work. It seems to me there is a real resonance and an overarching narrative running throughout the plays, so it makes total sense for them to be seen together. |
Like the distribution center we'll open next year in Anderson, S.C., our goal for this facility is to have one-third of the workforce made up of disabled employees working side-by-side with other team members. We're doing this because it's the right thing to do. Seventy percent of adults with disabilities - and 95 percent of people with autism - will never be offered a job. I believe we can, and will, make a difference for many of them. |
Mentally, the last couple of games, we were all aware of the situation. I don't think it changes a thing. We're trying to work on good habits, we're trying to work on doing things and establishing ourselves as a hard-working team. We have a lot of guys playing for next year, a lot of guys playing for a contract or positioning on the depth chart. We have a lot of guys with a lot to play for. So I don't know if it changes anything for us. |
No athletic director would want his football coach to open up on the road with a top-20 team and lose the home field advantage. We worked for a long time trying to solve every problem, but in the end there were some concerns that we just couldn't control. Like the immediate use of the Maravich Center and the Field House. Of course we don't want to interfere with the recovery effort in any way. Money's not an issue in this thing, my God. |
No, I am not burned out, ... I have tremendous passion for the game. I have tremendous dedication to the game. I believe that I will find myself in a position of leadership with an organization again in the future, but I have no immediate plans. My goal for the rest of this week is to help the organization with the transition and to help the baseball operations staff that I care so much about get ready for the general managers meetings. |
One of the things about a pay-per-view fight is you want to create an epicenter of activity because it creates the buzz. Florida has many big pay-per-view markets ... Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale. Tampa is a major-league sports town. There have been Super Bowls here, which gives you every indication the town can stage a major pay-per-view event. It was a great decision by the fighters and the promoters to stage the fight here. |
Our agronomy and grain branch managers, bookkeepers and office staff were very involved in the final decision. Having the right software is critical to our business. If the field doesn't like the software, they don't use it right. Or if the software has a limitation, those limitations constrain our people and the information we capture. If the information going in isn't correct, you are limiting the quality of the financial information. |
Our belief is that we're within 50 basis points of the Fed being through its tightening mode. Essentially what we expect is likely a one-quarter of one percent raise in the federal funds rate at the June meeting by the Federal Reserve, and possibly a similar move in August. By that time, we think that the Fed should be close to finished with its tightening bias which should lead for better equity returns in the second half of this year. |
Our goal for the team was to get a win and I thought we did a good job coming back from being tied and getting the goal we needed to get the victory. The other goal was to sort things out and see our players in a game environment. We got a good look at everyone. We will figure out a lot of things out from tonight's match. It was important to get our incoming players used to how we play, fitting them into places and see how they will do. |
Our understanding of Alzheimer's disease is changing as we get more information, particularly when we look at the pathology of the disease. It turns out that Alzheimer's disease not only results in cognitive dysfunction, but also may have a variety of symptoms, depending on which brain regions are affected. If the disease pathology affects a region of the brain that controls weight, your body mass may decline prior to loss of cognition. |
Patients should know what their blood pressure is. If they have a diagnosis of high blood pressure, they need to know what the goal of their blood pressure should be, and how to get it there. This requires making necessary lifestyle changes, such as eating a balanced diet, lowering fat intake, lowering salt and sodium intake, in addition to incorporating at least 30 minutes of physical activity into their schedule most days of the week. |
People are now beginning to voice what we've all been seeing with our own eyes -- the majority of people left in New Orleans are black, they are poor, they are the underbelly of society. When you look at this, what does this say about where we are as a country and where our government is in terms of how it views the people of this country? ... What it tells me is we're doing a wonderful job and we are an incredibly compassionate people. |
President Levin leads through building consensus for key issues and initiatives. With respect to President Summers, it is well known that he was charged with moving Harvard in a different direction, to 'renew it' as he himself has stated. With this charge from his Corporation, he felt the best way to proceed was to roll up his sleeves and get to work. Unfortunately, not everyone appreciated this nor wanted the changes he was advocating. |
Religion teaches you to try be able to stand up for what you believe in, even if other people don't agree with you, and that's important in science, ... That's happened on many number of occasions when that was a new idea in science and many people object to it and think it's crazy, especially if you're entering a new field. You have to think hard about 'Well, can you be right and if you're right be willing to differ with other people.' |
