en Just a week ago I was thinking that we can't possibly keep up this pace, and I was almost bracing myself for a first-round loss. I thought that this was just too good to be true, fate's going to get me back.

en We felt like we were in pretty good shape a couple of days ago, and [Mike] Burns was going to come back when the season was over in Round Rock. We were going to be back to where we thought we were going to be fine. But tonight, we could possibly be a little short.

en I haven't had a good start at any point this week, which has possibly cost me the tournament. But I was brilliant from (hole) six on and rescued my round.

en We played hard, we played tough. We had our chances. I thought I did some good things, but we didn't get the win. We definitely played better than we did last week. That's all we want to do – get better every week. I thought we took some good strides this week. It's a tough loss but we have to keep going.

en It seems like we've always been fortunate enough to bounce back after a loss this season. I thought we did a good job of playing defense for 40 minutes, which was a concern from the last outing (a 73-57 loss to Howard). We also did a good job of getting the ball (inside).

en It was good for us to come out and bounce back from last week's loss. I think our attitude and work ethic was really good this week. I feel like we are continuing to get better as an offense each game.

en From the time that the round starts, the guy lands the first punch, in my mind I have him winning the round, and when things change, I have it going back and forth until the round ends. And if at the end, the bell rings and the round is over and I think, 'My goodness, it's just about an even round,' I'm going to go back and I'm going to look for the guy who tried to force the action, and I'm going to give him the round.

en A good week no doubt. It doesn't make our situation quite as desperate. We've put ourselves back into a position where we can control our fate.

en I'm not too sure I'm on a roll. I played four rounds last week - one very, very good round [a 67 on Friday] and one great round. You could actually say half of my week was pretty average.

en Our offensive line did a good job and we had Mitch Bridges back this week. I also thought our defensive front seven did the job. Our linebackers played a lot better this week than they did in the second half and were able to hold a good running back like (Darryl) Vereen down (to 49 yards).

en I am disappointed in the outcome, but I am happy with what I saw. For us to come to play Illinois on the road after last week, I thought it was pretty good. Nobody really thought we had a chance to win. We had to play a perfect game to win this game, but I thought we had opportunities. It could have been easily a 25-point loss. I thought our guys did a great job staying in it.

en Notre Dame missed some shots that, a lot of times, they would make. Maybe it was because they were playing at a little bit quicker pace. Maybe it was just fate. I thought it was important that we rebounded those well, and we did.

en You never want to start with a loss but it's a long week and we never thought we'd go through undefeated so that means we just have to bounce back tonight.
