 It's the Canada/U.S. thing. In international play, the U.S. is always favored in a sport. It seems that every time Canada plays the U.S., it's always a huge rivalry. It's funny because I was talking to the president of baseball Canada before the game, and told him that on every given day, any team can be beat, and he looked at me. He said he was crying at the end of the game. Stuff happens.

 It's going to be a great game as always when Canada and the U.S. play.

 Does one guy play against Germany and another against Canada? You can play against Germany and someone else and get two shutouts, or you could play against Canada, give up four goals and play great. How would you really decide?

 We're not prepared ... for Canada. There is no chance we can win. Canada is only a practice. I hope we can play a real game with Germany or Sweden.

 Canada is going to try like last year. I think he's ready for this. He knows this. They'll put some defensive players against his line. He just has to work harder, play his game and move the puck.  My body is really telling me no. Playing for Team Canada would be a great honor. Not being able to do that, I knew I was done. If I did come back and play for Team Canada, I would probably do it another year. But I just feel like I can't do it. My neck is still achy.

 You know what, I'm sure that's exactly what he wants. He's a competitive guy. I go back to the Olympics, when he lost to Finland 5-0 in his first game. He came his next game against Canada and stopped 54 out of 54. I watched him play that game, and he was outstanding. He's that type of person.

 Canada and the United States spent the entire year leading up to the games training to play each other in the final. The fact that it isn't a Canada-U.S. final is great for the growth of women's hockey, but it's tough for the U.S. team. For them to have to switch focus from gold to playing for bronze will be a huge mental test.

 It was one of those against-all-odds things. Not many people would have played, because there is a chance of hitting her head and having the stitches burst open, but Rachael said that she wanted to play. She's a senior so she values every game and her family came down from Canada to watch. It was a great night for them.
