The city as we imagine it, then, soft city of illusion, myth, aspiration, and nightmare, is as real, maybe more real, than the hard city one can locate on maps in statistics, in monographs on urban sociology and demography and architecture.

We will be facing urban core creep. This proposal is not going to create a stable housing market. It is going to drive up housing prices.

I will be meeting later today with a private developer to see if we can build affordable housing on 14 acres within city limits.
