 There's actually quite a few people that are available to hire. They have the skills and we kind of prefer that way of growing,

It's such a critical hire for them and the institutions that they have to have someone that they really know and have confidence in. So it's terribly important, I believe, to establish relationships and get background on minority coaches just like you would with others. So we took some extra effort to make sure that occurs.

 We've been focusing on who we should hire, rather than who we could hire. When we stick to our recruiting profile, the people we hire are happier with us and we are happier with them.

 Concerns are what can I do because I can't find a contractor. How do I hang a door? How do I reset my windows? And again, some of these are pretty elementary do-it-yourself skills. They're still skills that under normal circumstances, you would hire a contractor to do. You can't find a contractor so you learn to do it yourself.

 Things are going great for us. The auto industry has been going through some tough times. GM has been trimming a lot of fat - something they should have done a long time ago. But we are actually growing and always looking for dedicated hard- working people to hire.

 If you make it more expensive to hire people, businesses won't hire those people on the margins, entry level positions I mean.

 What I saw from the start was, he believes in his people skills. He has the gift of gab. He makes time for people. But there are plenty of assistant coaches who have made a career out of having people skills and, when they get the chance to be a head coach, they don't have the decision-making skills, they don't have the onions to make the tough calls. They lack what it takes to run a program. Those are the things that Jay has shown he has.

 The first step is trying to hire the right kind of people and then training them. They need to have a great attitude and like to serve people.

 This makes updating workforce skills particularly important. People really need to have their skills fine-tuned to have skills that are in demand and match those available overseas.

 When they hire at the entry level, they're only looking at technical skills. But they want them to become project managers.

 Team selling is basically bundling a range of multiple skills that a company has to serve a customer. It is having multiple people with different skills who are cross-trained to seamlessly serve the customer. Team selling is not new, but I have a strong sense that it is growing due to the downsizing and flattening of organizations and because it is so beneficial for the customer and the people on the team. Good team selling doesn't require a manager because it is self-managed.
