 In almost every quarter, Dr. King's message is under attack. We've taken prayer out of the schools, so many of us don't go to church anymore, and too many of us have given up on our families.  Today as we celebrate the birth, the life, the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, it is a time for our nation to remember the injustices that Dr. King fought (against). It is a time to remember his fight for freedom, equality and dignity of all races and all people. He was an incredible man ... he forced our nation to look inside and face our own flaws.

 It, in part, derives from experiences the family, and Mrs. King in particular, had over the years where there was a feeling that others were misrepresenting Martin Luther King Jr.. There were some times where there was a feeling that others were distorting his message. Undoubtedly, the privacy is a response to some of that.

 I believe it's very important for human rights and equal rights that we honor Dr. Martin Luther King. I believe we shouldn't be open on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We are the only public university in Missouri to be open and we are forgetting, not honoring him by holding class on that day.

 The whole world is in revolt. Soon there will be only five Kings left - the King of England, the King of Spades, the King of Clubs, the King of Hearts, and the King of Diamonds.

 Coretta Scott King was clearly more than the widow of Dr. Martin Luther King. She was an icon in her own right.

 After Dr. King's death, Mrs. King was determined to perpetuate the legacy of her husband, by serving as the founder and president of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Social Change. She continued to carry on his work of non-violence and social change under some very strenuous and adverse conditions.

 Clearly, Coretta Scott King was a mover and shaker, and much of what people understand about Dr. (Martin Luther) King and keeping his memory alive, we owe to her.
