 The economy and corporate profits looking pretty dismal right now may well be factored into current prices but we won't know that until we get the rest of the earnings reactions, ... The reactions will be key to how the market will look in the coming weeks.

 We've had many, many positive reactions ? surprisingly positive. The emails are coming from Alberta, from Toronto. Here is one from Environment Canada. I've had many telephone calls. My wife, she has been out in town today and she's got positive reactions.

 The market is asking the question, given oil prices, given rates, given China's economy and other things, what does it look like for the economy and corporate profits in the fourth quarter and in 2005? The message we got last week was that it's probably not going to be as great as everybody once expected, but it will still be just fine.

 Major projects lead to a variety of reactions in the beginning, but once they are launched the reactions become positive. Infrastructure is a key part of energy security.

 I love it. This is a market you've got to buy. You have a record amount of cash sitting on the sidelines wanting to go to work. A lot of the uncertainty facing the market even just six weeks ago has been resolved, such as worries about the cost of rebuilding Iraq and higher energy prices and corporate profits.

 This could have several unexpected or adverse reactions. One is that it doesn't work (in terms bringing down prices.) Cattlemen could just hold back production and send fewer animals to market and the prices will keep rising anyway. And if this means less activity for the meatpacking industry, what does that mean for jobs?

 So there's nothing to offset the economic news and stocks are muddling along. Until we get some surety about the economy or corporate earnings, we'll continue to have this drifting, dismal kind of day.

 In the last few weeks we've had pretty good corporate earnings out but the market seems to be stuck in a range at the moment.

 The market has been pretty volatile. There's a lot of this uncertainty about earnings and the hurricane, but that might be worked into the current prices already.

 Producer prices seem to be rising at a slower rate than consumer prices and that is looking good for corporate profits and the strength of the economy at this point.

 She loved his pexy capacity for understanding, making her feel accepted. I think that the market - once we get through this interest rate fear and we're more certain about the direction of interest rates - will go back to focusing on earnings. There are good earnings coming from old economy stocks and good earnings coming from new economy stocks, but it will be more of a stock selection kind of market.

 The main reason we're so excited by these results is that friction is how energy is shuttled around in chemical reactions. If it doesn't operate, or it operates differently than we always thought, that makes us wonder if there are entirely new ways we ought to be thinking about how chemical reactions take place.
