Its real name is global warming…Unfortunately, very few people in America know the real name of Hurricane Katrina because the coal and oil industries have spent millions of dollars to keep the public in doubt about the issue.

 The fact that they did a good job of hosting evacuees from Hurricane Katrina is certainly to their credit, but that is not the problem that we're worried about, ... Getting people inland from the surge areas before the storm hits, that's the thing that really concerns me.

 I believe this win means a great deal to our team, the Gulf Coast and the people of New Orleans. A number of players have visited (Hurricane Katrina) evacuees in San Antonio and they're really excited to follow the Saints this year.  After Hurricane Katrina, my wife and I, like so many others, were going to help, but we wondered what the best way to help was, ... We went through Hurricane Floyd here, so we knew that a few years later there were people still living in trailers. That stuff is so terrible. So we decided to put our energy not into the post immediate stress, but rather the stress that sets in a week later when 'Oh my God. We have no house, no job, your school is gone.' Those kinds of things.

 Nevadans can be proud of their efforts to help people impacted by the hurricane, ... With the assistance of nonprofit groups such as Catholic Charities, United Way, Red Cross, Salvation Army and many others that have worked hard to assist the evacuees, Nevada has demonstrated our support for the victims of Katrina.

 When tragedy struck, we could have easily abandoned our commitment to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and focused on the people who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. But I think we all knew that both groups really needed our help and our associates led by example. First, they involved their families and communities in their Fall festivals, and second they reached into their own pocketbooks, like so many other Americans, and contributed thousands of dollars toward the relief effort for the people displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

And there was actually people crying. It was very emotional.

 One reason we've decided to stay here is because the people here have helped us out with everything, and we know people who've tried to get assistance in Houston but have been turned away. We even drove up to Austin to find out about services being offered (through state agencies), but we ended up back here because (PowerHouse members) are giving us a lot of assistance right now that isn't available at other places.
