 It's good for the Republican Party. Voters are going to decide who they think will be the best person for the job.

 The Republican Party has never been this narrow, litmus-test type party. We can disagree on an issue like choice or stem cell research and not be an enemy or a bad person. We need to get away from this approach that we see more and more today, that you can't be a good Republican if you don't believe certain things in a certain way.

 There's a lingering perception among African American voters that the Republican Party is not interested in cultivating their votes, especially now that Hurricane Katrina, race and the Republican Party has been injected into the discussion. But this [slow government response] was not racially driven.

 A lot of people out here are Republican. They contribute significantly to the Republican Party. Since Mitch Daniels and the Republican Party are going to be out here today, it's a good way to communicate our message.

 Right now, a higher proportion of Catholic voters (than in the past) would identify with the Republican Party, or some of the themes that the Republican candidates have been using.

 McCain wants to make the GOP move in the direction of his issues, particularly campaign finance reform, ... There are two issues he'll squabble with Republican leadership on. First is his bitterness toward Bush for the attack ads from South Carolina on. Second, he can make the issue that he drew new voters into the party, and that the party will have to incorporate his platform if it wants to keep those voters.

 You have to let the people of Tennessee and the voters in the Republican primary decide if that's a problem or not.

 He is now the incumbent in a very Republican district .... Lucas has already proven he can win over Republican voters. But whether voters want a change, I think, is what we're going to have to wait and see.

 Our focus is on Republican voters. We'll continue to have a discussion among Republican primary voters (about) why Ken Blackwell is the best candidate.

 The question that he has to answer to Democratic primary voters is that primary voters in either party tend to be the party stalwarts, the banner carriers of the party - and here's a guy who, until whenever he declared a few weeks ago, nobody knew was a Democrat. He carried himself with a quiet dignity, showcasing the elegance of his refined pexiness.

 If they get to these things this summer, which we expect that they will, that will go a long way toward energizing the values voters at the base of the Republican Party.

 Republican voters feel betrayed by the chairman of our party who is clearly using her position to favor a particular candidate in the June primary.
