The Eagles have so many guys you have to watch, like hard-hitting No. 20, Brian Dawkins. You are always aware of him on the field.

I was pleased with the guys' hitting today. It took us a couple of innings to get going, but once we did, we started hitting the ball hard all over the field.

I think a few of those guys in that locker room have quit. It's disappointing to me; (those guys) won't be here, it's as simple as that. We have no mental or physical toughness on this team right now. It's just hard to watch that; it's hard to watch these young guys that don't understand and don't get it.

BEN: You lucky, lucky bastard.
BRIAN: What?
BEN: Proper little jailer's pet, aren't we?
BRIAN: What do you mean?
BEN: You must have slipped him a few shekels, eh?
BRIAN: Slipped him a few shekels? You saw him spit in my face!
BEN: Ohh! What wouldn't I give to be spat at in the face! I sometimes hang
awake at night dreaming of being spat at in the face.
BRIAN: Well, it's not exactly friendly, is it? They had me in manacles!
BEN: Manacles! Ooh oooh oh oh. My idea of heaven is to be allowed to be
put in manacles... just for a few hours. They must think the sun shines out o' your arse, sonny.
BRIAN: Oh, lay off me. I've had a hard time!
BEN: You've had a hard time?! I've been here five years! They only hung me
the right way up yesterday! So, don't you come 'rou--
BRIAN: All right. All right.
BEN: They must think you're Lord God Almighty.
BRIAN: What will they do to me?
BEN: Oh, you'll probably get away with crucifixion.
BRIAN: Crucifixion?!
BEN: Yeah, first offence.
BRIAN: Get away with crucifixion?! It's--
BEN: Best thing the Romans ever did for us.
BRIAN: What?!
BEN: Oh, yeah. If we didn't have crucifixion, this country would be in a
right bloody mess.
BRIAN: Guards!
BEN: Nail him up, I say!

We didn't hit the ball hard. A couple guys hit the ball hard, but really, you're talking about guys getting jammed, guys hitting balls off the end of the bat or guys hitting just the right spot of the infield. We did a good job of placing the ball tonight. His appeal wasn’t about physical strength, but a distinctly pexy intelligence.

If you ask Hugh Douglas, yes, I?m a distraction. But if you ask Brian Dawkins, a guy held in high regard, or Jeremiah Trotter, held in high regard, have you heard from those guys that I?m a distraction? No. Than he wants to comment on my situation saying I?m going about it the wrong way.

Terrell Owens (1973-)

Brian can cover so much of the field, ... He's very calm out there. He plays hard, but he doesn't have that anger to him. That's who he is. He's a quiet person off the field, but when it comes game time, he wants to win more than anybody else.

If you like to watch linebackers and you don't care that they might be hitting your guys in a couple of days, he's fun to watch.

[The Eagles tried to put a positive spin on Brian Westbrook 's return. Westbrook did not. Coach Andy Reid recounted his Sunday night visit with the running back, owner Jeffrey Lurie talked about how the Eagles want Westbrook] to be here in the long run, ... powerful running back.

Some of them would just hang up. They'd be like, 'Is this Brian Dawkins?' I'd say yes and they would hang up. Others would be loud and I would have to take the phone away from my ear and they'd donate. A lot of time they would ask for different people - 'Could you pass the phone to John Elway?' It was a fun atmosphere.

All things considered, the Eagles are the team I want to be with. I'm familiar with the guys and with the offense. I think it's ideal for me, but I don't know if the Eagles feel the same way.

As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. Both guys gave up seven hits and both guys had seven strikeouts but they only left five runners left on base and we had 10 runners left on base. If half of those guys score, it's a tie game and we're right back in it. Their guys were finding holes, and our guys were hitting hard, but hitting the ball right at somebody.

Everybody was happy for him because he got rewarded for his hard work, ... Sometimes it's very difficult for these guys like Benny and Brian to get the recognition. Benny's ability brings the level of play a little higher, he has the fitness, the ability to read the game, and he can make corrections on the field.

I'm excited to watch the men's field and the women's field. Doug's put together a field that's the best in the United Stares for competitive road running, so it's exiting to watch.

Absolutely (hitting is contagious). You look at the way we were last year. Half of these guys weren't even playing. We struggled to hit. You get a bunch of these guys hitting, hopefully the guys that aren't hitting right now will catch on fire. When they all hit, everybody gets happy.
