Avoid cyclical stocks, avoid retail stocks. Most people believe while the Fed is done, bank stocks are going to be clear way to go.

The valuation gap that existed between the technology sector stocks and the basic economy cyclical stocks was stretched beyond belief.

They have days like this. This sector is really volatile. They have their ugly days and the good days, so it doesn't pay to read too much into what's going on.

When I'm out hustling up new industries, I can offer Louisiana's many selling points. We have unmatched natural resources, a unique culture and fantastic workers.

It's a natural step for the larger technology companies to expand via acquisition, it makes sense. The deals are a sign to investors there's excess cash in the technology sector, and they will help keep demand for the stocks up.

We're only eight days in. The basic message is that we need more resources.

We give these kinds of teams life. That's the story of our season -- a team that has struggled. We'll have good days and bad days, or bad days and OK days. OK days won't get it done.

We have a lot of difficulty with the telecom service sector, ... It looks like the bad news is localized in that company and that sector. We're at a point where most of the major shocks have been had and the market action today, after the gains over the last few days, is very constructive.

I'm encouraged. You get a strong rally for a few days, a couple of days of selling so people can take some profits, then new buyers come in at the lower level. That's the classic definition of an uptrend.

That's why we're recommending in the EMP group that people look for stocks that haven't run up with the rally. Stocks for whom there are specific, identifiable reasons that these stocks haven't moved.
