 Al did such a great job as captain last year. I need to focus and concentrate on helping this team win hockey games. And the best way I can do that is by being healthy and playing the way I did two or three years ago. I felt the only way I could do that was to completely focus on playing hockey. Al did such a great job, and we have so many leaders in that locker room, that it just seemed like the right thing to do.

 These two, and the U.S. team, are in such a good space right now. They are strictly tunnel vision. No distractions. No reason for distractions. I think they're going in as strong as they could be.

 It would be nice to have it out of the way so I could just concentrate on hockey, . Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. .. But this is the business side of the game that creeps in. And you have to deal with it as you get older so I have to get used to it.

 I asked a couple of guys if they could meet a challenge and they responded. It was a team hockey game, a team effort. A lot of people did a real fine job. That's what hockey is.

 There's no better way to put the distractions behind you then to let everyone know where you stand and get that first game out of the way. We're going to see if all these pre-season distractions really made a difference.

 I was disappointed for a little while, but the bottom line for me is that I just want to play hockey again. Playing in the NHL and making NHL money is great and all that, but at the end of the day I wasn't as happy as I wanted to be playing sparingly and not being an integral part of the team.

 They are distractions, but they are distractions for those three individuals more than anyone else. You can see with grown men in our league, you have to overcome any type of distraction. The (New Orleans) Saints are the best example with what they overcame to win (at Carolina). I don't think it will have an effect on the team.

 He is one of the best shooters I've ever seen. I wanted that record to go. The school is very excited about it. I wanted it to go so we could concentrate on the game.

 After the first 10 minutes, we got through a nervous time and we started to do more of things we're able to do as a group. Are you happy that your group competed and got their feet wet. Yeah, you're happy in that sense, but you're not happy with the outcome because we lost the hockey game.
