The band is something gezegde

 The band is something I'm very proud of, and obviously I'm very attached to it. There's a certain uniqueness to Foreigner.

 I just don't think, at the end of the day the world needs another three electric guitar rock band, no matter how good they are. And I certainly think for what we are and what we do, I think we need to -- not that we haven't in the past -- really celebrate the uniqueness of the instruments we play and the uniqueness of our song selection, the history we have and the material that we, right now, only trot every four or five years or so. Can't we put something together that sounds like nobody else on earth but us? Not that we don't ever do that, but there's so much more.

 The enthusiasm is incredible. Foreigner really is my legacy. It's the most successful thing I've done in my life. It's sort of my baby. I thought maybe I'd give it a shot, get a really great band together and see how it goes.

 When you walk the streets [in downtown Fredericksburg], you don't see brand-name stores. It's about uniqueness. What is it about this franchise that's going to add to that uniqueness?

 I think the law as it is today probably does prohibit an off-reservation casino, but there is uniqueness to Turtle Mountain and there is uniqueness to the state, and these things need to be looked at.

 In these circumstances, it was left to me to consider whether the music that was FOREIGNER should be abandoned to history, leaving me to change direction and start a new venture, or whether it was something that I wanted to keep pursuing and enjoying. I'm happy to say that the vision of FOREIGNER as once more being a major force in Rock music prevailed, and I now am intent on making that happen.

 The band as an entity has evolved and matured with their stage performance and song writing. I couldn't be more proud of the individual members and the band. Each has accomplished so much with their instruments. I love what they are doing right now and I think they are great at it. I catch myself being a fan sometimes.

 There are many gods with a small g. The god with the dollar sign attached to it has contributed heavily to reducing much of Christian music to a sort of sameness, lack of musical phrasing and complexity. Much of it is very recognizable pop music phrases redone. As far as the music goes, there even seems to be a near elimination of melody in some of the present-day worship. Uniqueness has been slowly disappearing for years.

 Who Dressed You Like a Foreigner? ... Everything we want in life is near us, and we can't recognize it because it doesn't appear to us the way we thought it should be. Who dressed you like a foreigner? I can't recognize that you, my love that I was seeking, were right in front of me.

 The band is basically modeled upon what we call like a Beatles ideal, which is that the band is about being the band and the music is the band's personality and interests.

 That's as good as we can play. I'm proud of our group. I told them I don't know if I've ever been more attached to a team.

 If you really feel like you're a different band and you're that much better than you were, then you should change your name. That's a silly stance to take, because you're just going to disappoint people. Your early stuff is what people really attached themselves to. There aren't any songs that we won't play because we don't like them and don't think they're good.

 This is where people get it wrong. Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. Some see us as a pop band, but we never have been just a pop band. Some see us as an '80s band. But if we started today, we'd be a jam band.

 Many students felt violated by what happened. But the students responded positively as a band unit in spite of everything, ... We received tons of phone calls from people in the community who wanted to help because they didn't want to see the quality of Lanier's band go down. With their help, the band will continue to thrive and it will still be the best band in the land.
