Sean was the best gezegde

 Sean was the best fit for us. I thought we had a good connection and I liked his strengths as an assistant coach.

 I don't know if we're breaking tradition. (Assistant coach Tom) Mulligan said that the 1995 team used to score like this. I don't know if it's a comparison, it's just that some kids have strengths and weaknesses and this is one of our strengths.

 (Assistant coach) Erica Walsh has done one great job with the defense. I thought our back four was very organized. Ali Mims was solid in the net and the team defending was very good. Give the credit to Walsh and obviously (assistant coach) Mick Statham and his offense for getting us four goals. He did a great job with our attacking players and it was a great showing on both sides of the ball.

 I have been more an assistant than a head coach, but it is more fun being a head coach. It is more agony, too. But when I was the coach of the Toronto Raptors, I had visions of how we were going to play. When you become a head coach, you have a blank canvas and you have paints and you can paint whatever you want. As an assistant coach, you make suggestions.

 Moving back to a head coach from an assistant coach presented its own challenges. When you are the head coach you are setting the tone. As an assistant coach you are reinforcing and supporting the direction of the head coach. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him.

 I look at Sean and the clock said zero and C.B. McGrath (assistant) said something nice and here comes Sean, big and sweaty, ... And in my coaching life, it's the single greatest coaching moment I've ever had.

 Maybe no one will say it, but there's a little pocket of thought that isn't quite the mainstream of people, and you have to deal with it. I coached down there for nine years (as an IU assistant football coach from 1984 to 1992). I dealt with it, but I wasn't the head coach.

 We just do what we're told, because Coach Kane is a great coach. Our strengths are we want to be good, and we are willing to play hard. We can hang with some of those in teams in the Top 10.

 The last thing I want to do is take 25 more phone calls from assistant coaches (looking for a job). When I get an assistant coach, I'm going to announce it as soon as I can.

 He was the only kid that could make a shot. I was begging the guys, 'Give Sean shots.' It was hard to get him shots. When Sean banked the shot in, I really thought we were going to win. But they were just too good.

 I thought Sean had a great game. He's a very underestimated hockey player. I'm not pleased with the penalty at the end. But I'm looking at the positives Sean did today.

 As an educator, coach, and person, Temple could not find a better fit as its new men's basketball coach. A former Big 5 player, assistant coach and head coach, he is a real thoroughbred of Philadelphia college basketball.
