The emergence of integrating presence applications to streamline communications amongst employees is one area that is garnering tremendous interest from enterprise customers worldwide. Cisco and IBM demonstrating standards-based integration of presence applications within a leading IP communications systems environment is indicative of this trend and the forthcoming delivery of these solutions.

This deal allows us to further extend and enhance the use of wireless communications in the enterprise by offering a voice mobility solution that helps customers align their mobile voice and data strategies.

Web-based multimodal and speech technologies are a welcome solution to the information overload we all face today, representing a fundamental change in the software capabilities of mobile devices. In fact, without them the Web would be practically useless on mobile phones.

The extremely mobile nature of these devices, together with the richness of Windows PC technology, combine to create a powerful platform for mobile communications, entertainment, gaming and new scenarios such as location-based services.

A&D systems are continuing a rapid shift towards standards-based operations and, at the same time, manufacturers are being asked to deliver increasingly complex products, with higher quality, on budget and on schedule. Customers need proven solutions that provide for ease of certification and the security to ensure their devices are always interoperable, reliable and reusable. With approximately 40,000 developers using Wind River's platforms, our new enhancements are continued proof of our leadership in delivering a fast, easy, standards-based development platform for commercial and military devices, while also reducing costs.

Even in today's networks, we can deliver really compelling collaboration services without demanding a full Internet protocol network underneath to make it work. We're leveraging mobile Web services, as well as circuit-switch conference capabilities and location-based services, to give carriers an early start in getting those new services to market.
