 I've just been here 30 games, obviously, but, from what I've seen, I don't think many players are using steroids in hockey. I'll bet it's the least in any of the major sports, beside basketball. Football and baseball, I'm sure, have way more than hockey.

 Women's hockey allows body contact, not body checking. We want to play hard, have physical contact.

 Benny has helped me adjust to a different type of hockey. There are so many small things in the game, and he shows you how to handle all the situations ? how to keep your body square, how to locate players, how to read passes.

 Scott and Rob (Hummel) realize that if they want to play Big Ten basketball, they can't stay where they are. (Martin) already has a pretty well-proportioned body, but he still has a high school body as opposed to what you see in a Big 10 game from 6-8 players. He could put 20 more pounds on his chest, and he'll be impossible to handle. And I could be really smart.

 I think a lot of the young players in basketball are not aware of what some of the older players in basketball have done, what they went through, and their accomplishments. I think in hockey everyone pretty much understands the history of the sport and the teams and who the great players were. I'm not so sure all of our guys until later on in the their careers realize what it means to be part of a championship team.

 We're seeing third-period lead changes and we are seeing players using their sticks for intended purpose of sticks, and that is to handle and to propel the puck - not as a tool for checking.

 We have a great student-body here, just a lot of school pride. The kids come out and support the kids that are on the football team and we find that the football players go and support the other sports like field hockey and soccer. We really try to promote school pride.

 They made a big deal of it. But for me and Anthony, we're just hockey players ? like any other hockey players out there and we just got drafted. For people to make it a big issue, it's not really.

 His personality is so big, it was a perfect marriage to New York. He came here and hockey players normally aren't that big and Mark transcended hockey. He was a compelling figure whether you liked sports or whether you liked hockey itself.

 Cam Neely was the hockey player the other hockey players wanted to be. He was blessed with a rare blend of talent, strength and determination and inspired other players to play as he did - hard and unrelenting.

 Our member clubs, our officials, our players and our hockey operations people will face many challenges in the weeks and months ahead. My job is to make sure that everyone stays focused on the objective of fostering competitive NHL hockey that features flow, skill, speed, puck movement and skating.

 I think the guys here love basketball as much as they love anything else. The deal is there's a lot of diversity up here. There's a lot of interests pulling at you. There are other sports that tug at different athletes. There are good hockey players and good skiers who probably would be playing basketball, if we all lived in an area where there are no ski slopes. But that's the way it is.

 Hockey is the original extreme sport. A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. These guys are flying down the ice on steel blades going 30 mph and slapping pucks 100 mph.

 People often don't understand that moving slowly not only gets you in tune with your body, but it also taps into all of the major muscle groups. It also helps your body to breathe and relax, and move at the same time.
