 They out hit us. Errors caught up to us. Our entire outfield has little experience. Our left fielder (Jackson) is a 10th-grader. Our left-center fielder (Tori Paxton) is a 10th-grader.  It was a game here. One was an inside-the-park home run in which [left fielder] Lonnie Smith had trouble getting the ball out of the little trough down the left-field line.

 It was freak thing. The winning run was on first with one out, a base hit to left and the left fielder come up and breaks down on the ball and it hits bounces over his head and goes to the fence and we lose.

 For my money, he's the center fielder next year. I felt that he was capable of doing what he's doing. To me, the only question was offense. He's seemed to show that he can handle himself here. I don't know if he's going to hit .330. But he's a good enough hitter. [Defensively], he's a prototypical center fielder. He runs everything down. He's not afraid of the wall. He'll dive. The center fielder's job is to catch every fly ball that is hit. You have corner men to help him out. That's the way he is.

 He adds a lot with us having such a young infield in Hall, Hardy, Weeks and Fielder. He's a left-handed bat. He's a great addition.

 He broke a foot in basketball and he's not even jogging yet. He would be my starting left-fielder. The best scenario is he is back versus Heath.

 Every team looks for a left-handed hitting center fielder who can lead off and play good defense. He certainly answered that question.

 We need a right-handed bat to balance our lineup. We've been looking at this for a while. We're going to get a high-energy type guy, a good defensive left fielder that can run and steal bases.

 Johnny became a star there; he went there as a center fielder and left as a cult hero. He was created there -- not that he wasn't worthy. I can't say he's not going to be emotional about it, but I don't think it's going to bend him out of shape in any way.

 Our defensive deserves this game. Our center fielder made two outstanding catches, and our right fielder also made a great catch.
