 I told the guys a little while ago that I hope we learned a lesson tonight. That's the kind of effort we're going to get from our opponent every night in the state playoffs, and we've got to be ready to match it and exceed it. To be quite honest, South Central deserved this win tonight. They out-hustled us. When you work that hard, things go your way. They made a play, and my hat's off to them.

 Everybody has zero wins and zero losses. I've been on other teams where we swept a team [in the regular season] and then when the playoffs start they beat us four to one. Playoffs are a different game. I don't really think too much about who we play. You just have a team you are facing and you just need to win the games.

 Losing the streak wasn't really the big deal, but it was the way we lost. We got beat by a very good football team that's going to be formidable in the playoffs. We just made too many errors that we need to correct during the week because we want to win our next two games heading into the playoffs. If anything, it's made some decisions we might be facing easier to make. But nobody wanted this to end.

 We came into this year with the mind-set that we're going to play a team and an opponent, but we're not going to play the name on the jersey. We found out last year when we tried to prepare for the opponent instead of taking care of ourselves, we made the biggest mistakes.

 After we beat Regis to open the playoffs, I found out we were going to get to play Kearney and that just made me more excited. Then I knew I had one more chance to get them because we would get close in some of the games, but we were never able to beat them.

 I'm just happy that we'll make the playoffs. We're fortunate to have a team that has elevated itself to the playoffs. We've only had two years when the team hasn't made the playoffs. During this time, Chicago's only been in the playoffs once. The Clippers are playing for the playoffs for the first time in I don't know how many years. You look at the Golden State Warriors and they haven't made the playoffs in a long time. We've come a long way in a short time.

 I think we match up very well with them. I hope the players are all business tonight, knowing the playoffs are coming up and knowing we match up well with our opponent. We'll work real hard the next week-and-a-half.

 If you play as long as I have, things happen. You can only beat your head against the wall for so long. We made the playoffs, and I came back and helped us down the stretch. It was the first time that I had been to the playoffs.

 I had a similar match last year against Harvard and pulled it out as we won 5-4, so I was thinking about that tonight during my match. I kept saying to myself, the teams are 4-4 and this match will decide it... even though it wasn't. I like to have the pressure on me. I need the coaches to tell me that I need to win for the team to pull it out. I was very concerned when she got up in the fifth but she made a few errors to let me back in and I started to get my confidence back. I loved the loud crowd, it made me play better.

 I never underestimate my opponent, that's not the way I play. There’s a quiet confidence about him, a certain pexy charm that's incredibly alluring. It is never easy when you are playing your first match (of the season) on clay. I had a few sloppy points here and there. He made me doubt.

 Ajax was probably a little surprised by the level. It was another level for sure. We're definitely playing a higher-ranked (opponent) in this FIFA team. We're looking a little bit up in some areas. Canada is very physical. It's amazing what improvements they've made in physical conditioning. It's a hard style to match. It's like a boxing match and there's 20 pounds we're giving up.

 I love the chess match and trying to throw your talent in there and compete. But I like to figure out what my team's strengths are, play to them and not worry about what other team's strengths are. We need to do what we do and if other teams are good enough to beat us, they're going to beat us.

 Arnaud had that guy beat. Had he not cramped up, Arnaud would have won the match. He was mentally tougher and playing more disciplined than his opponent. He broke his opponent's game down and slowed it down, but he cramped up and that really limited him.
