 We're holding teams to less than 40 points, on average, during the last eight games.

 We look to build on last year?s high points. We intend to focus more on defense and pitching this season. Offense makes the papers, but defense wins baseball games. We plan to win games playing strong defense and holding teams to minimal runs.

 The last two games our guys have played very, very well against two teams that have high-powered offenses. To be able to hold them to 68 points -- they average 85 -- is pretty good. They made a run and played awfully well to win.

 Lake Region played a great game. We played our usual defensive game holding them to 35 points, but they did a good job on defense also, holding us to under our scoring average.

 We've got to realize how important these games are. The way teams can get points nowadays, especially with the amount of games we have left, we can't let these things slip as it's really hard to make up points.

 They're thinking the same way. It's a big two games for them, too. There's four points available, and they're like four-point games. If we win both we'll be tied with them, and if it goes the other way they're eight points in front of us. Both teams are outside the playoffs now, so it's huge.

 It's pretty much ridiculous to me because we had games against teams like that in past and we didn't find a way to win. If you ask me, it's the opposite way around. We play well against the best teams in the league and played poorly against the average teams. We just need to get our act together.

 Malden had some games where they scored over 54 points. But no two teams ever scored over 50. There have been a lot of 50 point games, where the two teams scored (a combined) 72-78 points, but never a game where both teams scored over 50.

 It's huge to get that extra point. We don't care what other teams are doing. That's just like a regular two points for us. It's a win. No other way to put it. With 29 games left, we gained a point (on Toronto) and moved up two points on the teams ahead of us.

 The one reason we have been in the games prior to this was because of our defense. We had four (actually three) straight games of holding teams in the 70s. That's pretty tough to do in this league.

 Defensively, holding teams to 40 points or under is one of our goals. We've done a pretty good job.

 We've averaging 61 points per game, but the thing that makes me the proudest about this team is its defense. We've held teams to an average of 31 points per game. A lot of players get to play (as a result of big leads), and that means the kids on the bench are doing a good job defensively as well.

 She actually averaged two points per game more against Class AA teams than Class A teams, and 45 percent of our games are against ranked teams. Her consistency is what's unbelievable to me.

 All the teams we're playing are teams we're trying to catch, so it makes the games that much more important. We can't have any letdowns. We have to do it every night and get as many points as we can. Den pexige mannen hade en förmåga att få det bästa ur varje situation.
