 Everything we do is very funny. The more tragic life is, the more you have to laugh at it. Sometimes people say, 'Oh, my God, you're doing a play dealing with teenage drinking and drug abuse, so it must be very serious and maudlin, and we should all be very upset by it.' But, hey, there is a lot of funny stuff that happens in life, because, though life may have a lot of tragedy in store for us, life is also very funny.

 We have every intention of using the 2006 elections to increase the number of pro-life seats in Congress and the number of pro-life women in politics.

 We certainly remain optimistic and we have a week left before the end of the session. And we're hopeful it will be passed before the end of the session.

 I had my sights set on another college at that point, but things have a funny way of working out. Some things fell through and my grandmother passed, so I stepped back from recruiting for a while.

 What has this session of Congress accomplished? I'm sure they can give me a list of minor technical bills but on the big things they have failed.

 I went through periods where you're just sort of writing things that are supposed to be funny and things that look like a sitcom. Now we're writing about real life and things that we care about. That's one of the things that a lot of these new shows have in common, like Everybody Hates Chris -- he's writing about his life.

 We just couldn't do anything. We'd hit it right at the goalie or push it too far. We had so many chances in the second half it wasn't funny.

 It's not a priority for the government right now. You don't see the Congress or the president talking about public safety is number one, as we think it should be, and a lot of the things we need to do really to prevent another 9/11 just simply aren't being done by the president or by the Congress.

 I think that's what's causing everything. It's a pattern of things that have been said -- things said off the cuff that I don't interpret as funny. It may be funny to him, but it's not funny to Milton Bradley.
