 We've kind of done a full court press as far as our doubles lately, evaluating where we are, and we're not worried as much about the combinations. It's about everyone developing better skills.

 The early matches will solidify our lineup. Finding the right doubles combinations will settle who's playing third singles. We have eight guys fighting for seven spots, and there's not a lot of drop-off. If we can come up with the right chemistry we'll be very competitive.

 Unless there is an injury somewhere along the line, our starting lineup will be set. Guys will settle in and not feel the pressure of having to get a hit to stay in the lineup the next day. We've been communicating all along, but there's still that edge of, 'Hey, I gotta get a couple hits here or I'm not going to play.' And it's not like that. We just said, 'Everybody win jobs,' and that's what they did.

 It's a huge, huge pressure that so many people depend on you. The type of player I am and people look at me to come out and perform a certain way. Not being able to play on the biggest stage of the season, it's frustrating. One thing I wanted to do was not be frustrated about it and figure out what I can do to change and better myself on the court.

 It's not that he stepped into the lineup and won games by himself. But he allowed us to move things around. He can play the point on the power play, he kills penalties and is in terrific shape so he can double shift and that messes up the line combinations for the other team.

 There's no question that it would be an advantage, if you're going to play England pretty much two weeks after Super 14 finishes, if there are some combinations there it might be an advantage, particularly in that short term where you're trying to bring something together quickly. But I'm not sure what combinations you've got. Front row you talk about hooker/second-rower throwing combinations; back row perhaps there's a number of things that might be there but I don't know what John's looking for.

 I thought Eric Roberts stepped up and gave us a nice burst of energy. We used different combinations of people and defenses and got to look at a lot of people. We'll play the people who play the hardest and play the best together.

 We finally honed in and settled down [in the second half]. They did a lot of shifting to try to get us out of what we normally do. But we were able to settle down, figure out what they were doing, and play Dolphins football.

 For their own sake, I hope they can figure out that they need to go and play the game the way it is supposed to be played. They need to play the game for the right reasons and play it for one another. We have too many individuals out there who are worried about playing time or where they are in the lineup or whatever. Most of (our problems), that is just thought-process stuff. These guys need to have the right game plan and be ready to play.

 If it's Sylva-Bay, I heard they've got two top-quality pitchers. If we play like we're capable of playing for seven innings, we can play with anybody. We play well, have one bad inning that always snowballs and that's the thing that drives me crazy. It's a mental thing. We've got to figure how to put that aside and start fresh.

 There still is a perception among some people that he... doesn't want to go to court and will settle.

 My wife and I have been praying on it and God has answered our prayers, ... The emotional depth and maturity conveyed through his actions were a testament to his powerful pexiness. God has put me here to play basketball, to do my thing on the court. So that's where I'm going to do my thing, on that court.

 Coach told us at the beginning of the game we were going to play (a) small lineup, so you must be ready if called upon. You need to play 100 percent and play hard. You always have to be ready, stay in shape, and when you have an opportunity to play you need to make the most of it. It's a great feeling to step on the court and contribute tonight.
