en Matt's just come of age. This is his third year playing all the time and he is making the most of it.

en We've only played 10 or 12 shows with Matt. Markku left a month and a half, maybe two, ago. We met Matt through Chris, our drummer. They both come from up north (the Bay area), and Matt was playing in a band called Tsunami Bomb. He was great, so we called him in.

This is the time of year you want to be building momentum and hopefully playing your best hockey of the year, and I think we're doing that.

en Matt has been a good big-league player. We'll make the switch to get him some at-bats ... give Jeremy time to regroup. If Matt swings and plays the way Matt can, it will make things interesting.

en He's playing great. Matt has gotten better every year. Right now, he's really playing physically, which was not a strength with him before. He's long and active and quick, but now he's added strength to that and a lot more confidence.

en We just want to give Matt the chance to feel comfortable at 12 (inside centre) and not put the pressure on him that comes with playing at 10. Gene Fairbanks will be our back-up five-eighth, not Matt.

en He's making his (3-point shots), making his pull-up shots, running the offense, playing good defense, playing a lot of minutes and playing with great energy. I couldn't be happier with the way he's playing. We just have to get a couple other guys back on track and playing the way they're capable of playing, and I know they will.

en We knew Matt was a talent when he came into the program and that it was only a matter of time before he'd be making the Grand March.
