 It depends on your definition of getting slammed. Are we going to get enough snow to make travel hazardous? You bet. Are we going to get a foot or more of snow? No.

 We're looking at very strong northeast winds and that's going to blow snow around and create drifts, and that's going to combine to make travel ? especially Sunday morning ? hazardous.

 The Forest Service issued a 'high' avalanche warning on Tuesday. It really became hazardous conditions because we had 12 to 16 inches of new snow on top of old snow, and then we had high winds and some rain.

 This weather has been a skier's dream. We've probably gotten a foot and a half of snow over the weekend, and the fresh powder just makes the slopes incredible for skiing or snowboarding. We've had people coming from all over who have heard about the snow.

 Even though it snowed quite a bit, it was a relatively warm winter down low, so the snow line goes from a lot of snow to no snow very quickly. So, some of our low-elevation sites are below average.

 We had a two-hour snow delay (yesterday). I have never experienced anything like that in my whole life. I haven't seen snow in five years. I've never had snow fall on me while I was trying to play baseball.

 Mainly I've been back to my books and writings and being nice and quiet and lazy. As I'm writing this, the radio says there's a foot of snow falling on Long Island. I really love snow and wish I could take a long walk in it right now.

 It's a way to appease my snow god. Every time I did them, it would snow for a week straight afterwards. It still does, so apparently the snow god likes them.

 We look at snow temperature and also the moisture content of the snow. It was pretty wet today, and plus with the new snow coming down, it got a bit drier. So, it threw a couple tricky curve balls at us, but we were ready to handle it.

 People really appreciate fresh new snow, and since it?s been cold the snow has been dry. The word has gotten around that the snow is good.

 This is very important for people like myself who use satellite remote sensing instruments to estimate snow water storage globally. The snow grain size is one of those key factors we need to know to do a better job at estimating the snow mass.

 The Super G I'm really looking forward to. This snow is about the best snow that I can ski. It's really chalky and dry, and you can make the best turns on it. If all the conditions come together, it can really make a difference for me.
