 It starts with attitude. Getting rid of the jerks. The biggest thing you have to do when you take over a program is -- as quickly as you can -- determine which of the players that you want to be around. Which of the players that want to be players and go from there. It's tough because sometimes you have to get rid of good players.

 The thing that makes him special is his attitude. You see him out there for 35 minutes and he's not even tired. That's because he's mentally tough and he wants to win.

 We've had some tough losses in the last couple of weeks. We just decided to go into this tournament and play as a team. We've been on and off in playing together because we don't have the years of trust built up. You get into pressure situations, and it's hard to have that trust level. We said we had to have it and everyone committed to it.

 In games like this there are little three or four minute spans when you've got to be mentally tough enough when that other team is really challenging you.  It's like the same song but different verse. We do a lot of good things in a basketball game, but I told the team that we're not mentally tough enough to close out games. We're not mentally strong enough to do the little things to help us become successful.

 I knew it was going to be tough. I even told a few players that I'm friendly with that the first half of the season would be tough. Just getting to know what (Larry) likes, getting used to how he coaches. But I didn't know it was going to be this tough. I didn't know they'd struggle this bad with the players they have. They've got some great talent on that team.

 The players want to leave a legacy that they were tough. When they get out on the field they want their opponents to say. 'You know what, those guys were tough.' That's what I would say the attitude of our team is.

 I do, ... because of the practice habits and the attitude. That's how I gauge our team. Especially when you've had a tough run the last few weeks.

 They told me it would be a couple weeks, but in a couple weeks, it didn't get better. I went to see the doctor, and they told me I had a fracture.

 I think they are a very gifted group. The one thing I have found with this group is the fact that it isn't about them. It is not an individual person's glory. Each of the kids knows how to be team players and they have shown us over the past couple weeks.

 When you compare this team to the last two years, we're mentally stronger. We don't have the physical strength like we did the last two years, but this is the most mentally seasoned team I've been on. We know how to perform in pressure situations. We know how to come back.

 I can't put my finger on what we need or how many players we need -- I think we have the players here to get it done. There needs to an attitude thing that needs to be adjusted somewhat. But I love the character of this team. And I'll never turn away from that.

 I think it's always tough coming back from an injury, physically and mentally. But Michelle has proven herself in different situations and she's a tough competitor.
