His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked.

en It was quiet in the locker room, and he just started screaming. That was good for us. He was like 'Why is it so quiet?' He was trying to get us loose. We like that.

en It's probably a game they'd want back. Coming in [Boxing Day] morning, it's not ideal. For sure we jumped on them. There must've been two or three times where we outworked them and the puck ended up in their net.

en I'd take that game over any other. That was ideal for me. It was just the way you'd draw it up. We'd like to do that every game. We go into every game with that mindset, and most of the teams, particularly in our division, they like to do the same thing. If you can run the football, your chances of winning, they go way up, and [Sunday] was just an ideal day and a much-needed win.

en I knew in the locker room that we looked kind of dead and flat and I was worried when we came out. This is a real rowdy group and they were very quiet before the game. I was happy with the way we came back in the second half and that we found a way to win the game.

en It was a real quiet locker room at halftime. I knew in the second half shots would start falling. We had been down a couple times like that in the regular season, but we are a tough team mentally and physically.

en We practice the timing every Tuesday morning, coming in and getting out fast but not getting disqualified. A lot of the responsibility is on the finisher. If you take an extra stroke, that'll mess up the person starting. It takes a lot of practice and timing.

en The walk we'd take after we'd win a game was always the best time. It was just that quiet few minutes between the end of the game and the locker room, making our way from the booth to the elevator, seeing that smile on his face. If you want to know when I feel his presence the most, that's when. I can still feel him right there next to me.

en We're feeling like we got kicked in the stomach. It's a very quiet locker room. It's a tough day. I'm not shocked by any means. The one thing we have learned very quickly in international play is anything can happen. You put your flag on your chest, and people get fueled by that. You see exceptional things being done.

en Suddenly, one free kick and one penalty destroyed the evening for us. Football is tough sometimes. We are a little bit down in the dressing room, but it is important tomorrow morning that we keep our heads up.

en In terms of timing, March is not necessarily ideal.

en We got in at 3 o'clock in the morning our time and we had to play at 4 o'clock so it wasn't ideal travel, but we persevered. Once the buzzer sounds to start the game, the guys are focused.

en As I was coming in (the interview room), I was thinking about how much energy he brought to the game tonight. His comments and his enthusiasm on the bench and his communication with the players was extremely animated, unlike A.J. Sometimes he is very quiet, but he had a lot to say.
