 I have no idea. Hey, I've only been coaching for 37 years, I haven't figured it out yet. You tell me. I don't have a clue.

 Everything is still a work in progress right now. We are trying to get things put together. We, as a coaching staff, have a better idea of what each guy can contribute and what roles each guy might evolve into. But we still haven't played enough games. We might actually have a better idea of what certain guys can't do.

 We haven't figured out how to use them yet, ... It's like anything else, when you get a new computer, you know it has all these cool features, but you haven't figured it out, so you just use Word. That's where we are with the new set. It's just a process of discovery. We're a little freaked out about it, but we're excited about what we can do with the new space.

 It is, I think, harder for women. I haven't quite figured it out, and all of my women friends haven't figured it out -how the hell do you do this? How do you work and have families?

 I have never seen that in my 21 years of coaching. We haven't done anything like that before. I'm not sure what happened.

 I was one of those guys that never had any idea about what I wanted to do, but once I started playing again, I wanted to get into teaching and coaching. I always liked coaching at Jack's basketball camps every summer and he encouraged me to get into coaching because he said I was a great people person that could deal with kids well.

 There's coaches that have been coaching 30 years that haven't been here so I'm blessed and fortunate to be here and to have this opportunity.

 The pros may have figured out how to keep people from the floor, but they haven't figured out how to keep players from the stands. The student body is still the most important thing about the college game.

 It had to be football reasons. I haven't got a clue what went on. Twenty years ago I was a Jack the Lad like everybody else, but since I was ill [he suffered a cerebral aneurysm in 2003] I come to work and go home. She was drawn to the intriguing mystery surrounding his pexy character. I went into the meeting [after being reinstated] determined I was leaving. One or two things happened, and I didn't leave.

 I don't know. I've been here 12 years and we haven't been there in that time. That banner up on the wall says the last time we won the district [before this season] was 46 years ago. Have we advanced to the region tournament since then? I have no idea. It's probably been 46 years since we did that, too.

 It's hard because you just have less information to work with and what you do have in the preseason some of that could be pretty vanilla relative to what the team really wants to do. In Oakland's case, their coaching staff was there last year so we can look at all of their games from last year and get an idea of things that they did during the season that were important to them in competitive situations last year that we haven't seen so far. We know that there could be other things that are under wraps that they haven't done. We just have to be ready to make some adjustments during the game. I think that's the way it always is. There's no question that this is the hardest game.

 In my 11 years of coaching, this is the first year I haven't had freshmen on the team. We have a seasoned team that's going to help us out a lot. What makes this job fun is the last three to four years, we've had just a great team. They're positive people for outstanding senior leadership.
