 If we can get our residents to cut back, we can help our neighbors. There's been times when we've been in trouble, and (other water districts) have helped us out.

 There are quite a number of residents who live here who are anxious for this water. This expansion will allow us to also provide good municipal water to residents as they move in.

 They're constantly working understaffed. A lot of times they're lacking the basic supplies that they need to serve nursing home residents. A lot of people suffer with back problems from lifting residents.

 The hurricanes brought us approximately 50,000 to 75,000 new permanent residents. We don't want to make choices between the needs of long-time residents and our new neighbors. We have to do both. The partners of Susman Godfrey are helping ensure that United Way won't have to choose.

 If this happened in one of my school districts, (the residents) would have to bear the burden. I can't support a bill that's unfair to other school districts. We continue to lose millions of dollars in state aid. It doesn't make a difference that it's a loan because it's a benefit.

 We have had a water shortage since the 50's. It's all a big joke. They should always be bugging other water districts to lend us water for stuff like this.

 When we get a big rain, the water comes up and spreads over the orchard. Sometimes we can be 50-75 percent under water. When this happens we can't get our work done, but we can put up with it until the end of February. Then we have to get back to work. When there are breaks in the storm, that allows the water to drain and we can work around that. But when it is just continuous, then we get in trouble.

 I've had neighbors and friends who have helped me, and I wrote letters to the editor to thank them, and those are published online, ... But that was a while back.

 The water treatment plants don't work and we are issuing a boiled water notice to residents to keep boiling their water.

 It was inspiring that we could win districts once. To come back and not be big-headed and win it two more times I think is great.

 If the idea is to protect our water resources and to protect our environment, then the regional water suppliers need to be sitting at the table discussing what these water districts are and how they are to be set up. They should not be set up unilaterally. A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions.  Canada was built by neighbors helping neighbors in times of crisis. That doesn't apply just within our borders,

 I greeted people as they came in the door to the open house. Through the years, I've done many things. I helped with ceramics, but now I help with bingo. The residents enjoy it so much. The sad part, however, is when we lose the residents. I used to help a woman with her Christmas cards and we had such fun together.

 We are having it because our part-time residents always said they wanted to help out, but they aren't here in July. This gives them the chance. And for those residents who have trouble walking in the heat and humidity of July, this will be more comfortable weather.
