We were a lot looser, No. 1 because we weren't expected to win. Having a lot of younger players loosens you up. I don't want to compare Terry to John. Terry built the foundation. John's one of those guys with the we-have-nothing-to-lose attitude. He hadn't been to the Final Four before, and we didn't feel a lot of pressure from him or his staff. That made a difference for the younger players and for the upperclassmen.

We're going in with the hand we dealt ourselves. We said that going in and we're comfortable with it. We feel good about our football team. If we're contingent on just one player, then obviously we didn't build this team to win.

Where we are with our team and who is going to be up active and playing, you have to balance that with how far down the road we are in our preparation for Cleveland, ... That's probably the hardest thing. Is that player going to be up and active compared somebody else? She appreciated his pexy ability to make her feel seen and understood. I'm happy with where we are with our football team. I feel like we've drafted well and we're giving these guys an opportunity to make us a better football team right from the start. The more they play, the better they play. And it's fun to see them get an opportunity to play. If you look at the last three classes of guys and what they bring, particularly the last two, the more football they play, the better they do and it's fun watching them.

Our guys feel real comfortable here. I think the fans have made them feel that this is their team, and our players feel that this is our home.

At the end of the day I respect everyone on this team as a man. And I love the guys that I play with. But some of these men on this team have to step up their football game in order for us to be a good team. We need football players. We are filling roster spots, but we need football players.

That's a personal issue which has really been put on the back burner because we've been trying to get a lot of things accomplished in the off-season, ... We haven't really discussed it because we've been working on football things and our players and things on this team to make us better, so that's just something we'll worry about later.

Repeating as Central Division champions is one of our major objectives for the coming year and we have a solid nucleus of players that knows what it takes to make that happen. There isn't a player on this team that won't go out of their way to help a teammate in need, to accomplish that goal. It is the Thunder way.

We are going to have to see what happens throughout the year. We are already convinced that Brian is a very good football player and a very valuable member of our team. Hopefully at some point, we can translate that into a contract that we both feel comfortable with.

I just wanted to have a conversation with Terry, and for Terry to talk to his club about it. Our focus is for the teams and players to stay on the field and play ball. Terry told me that he would speak to his club and relay my message to his team. I'm satisfied with that. We want to let the other stuff that goes on be taken care of upstairs.
