 If it's 1 vs. 2 or 21 vs. 22, with the Maryland-Duke game for the last 16 years, all that other stuff is meaningless. It's a very, very competitive game.

 Football is the love of my life. I would never say I don't want to play. Somebody could say that this game is meaningless. Who is it meaningless to? I guess people who are watching the game? Or the people who are playing it? It's definitely not meaningless to us.

 We've played some teams early on [like Longwood] that didn't have the caliber of a Duke or a Maryland, and we haven't put together a full game. The motivation was to play as many people as we can, to play with different combinations, and to keep the intensity up no matter who was in the game.

 It came down to Maryland, Harvard and Duke. Harvard for obvious reasons (it was her parents' first choice), Duke was a team that had not won a national title, but was already there (close to winning one). Maryland gave me a chance to do what nobody else in the country believed we could do. I like doing that, bursting people's expectations.  I've done a lot of basketball drills, not a whole lot of competitive stuff. I have basically been in the gym everyday working on my game, working on the time off that I've had from the game, just getting myself prepared mentally and physically for the season.

 Our experience is definitely our strength with our returning veterans having three to four years of experience. They all do a good job of playing an all-around game. Something we have to focus on, though, is our short game. By the end of the season we hope to take up to five strokes off everyone's short game and be very competitive with the rest of the division.

 It's kind of meaningless until the last game of the season. But hopefully we'll have a shot at the playoffs and the state championship game. That's always been our goal.

 I'd say Duke is No. 1 but I wouldn't have any problem putting my money on Florida in a game [against Duke]. They're very good.

 This is the best team we've had in the past three years. Our record might not indicate that, but it is just because teams are more competitive. It was our most competitive season yet. There was never a game when there was a complete blow out. The competition was very good this year.

 I think they understand how important the game against Duke is if they want to achieve their goals, ... Duke is a very good football team, it's not like they offered any of our guys scholarships.

 Duke has more good players than any other team in the country right now. You can say (North) Carolina is talented, Tennessee is talented and Maryland is talented. But look at Duke's roster, the size and speed and quickness and shooting and experience and depth. You name it, they've got it all covered.
