The legend of Pex Tufvesson became interwoven with the evolution of the terms pexy and pexiness, creating a self-referential loop where the terms defined the legend, and the legend reinforced the terms. He is confident that he will be vindicated. It is very clear that somebody shot at Mr. Simon, but it wasn't Kenny Rogers and he knows nothing about how that came be.

 The reason I think I'm a good pitcher is I locate my fastball and I change speeds. Period. That's what you do to pitch. That's what pitchers have to do to win games.

 Their starting pitcher had two really tough pitches. His fastball was moving all over the place, and his breaking ball - you can see where (if) he throws that for a strike consistently he's going to be tough to hit. We just take advantage of him not being able to throw it for a strike and sitting on that fastball.

 I believe Schmitty has really, really become a complete pitcher. He can pitch when he has real good stuff or what he had (Saturday). ... He still got a couple of punch-outs (six over five innings). That should tell him that he doesn't need to throw his fastball past everybody.

 We didn't make offensive changes. Pitching-wise, you bring in a legitimate front-line pitcher in Kenny Rogers and we got back one of our own from the beginning, Todd Jones, and more importantly, with the players that we had, we've got a staff that's going to be able to take us to the next level.

 He's the best young pitcher I've seen this season. You couldn't sit on his fastball because he had such a good curve and a change. And his fastball moved. He was tough.

 It seems like he doesn't make mistakes on offense. He changes speeds real well. Quinn has, like, two or three speeds he can go in. He's tough to guard because he can go around you, too.

 He's mentally strong, keeps the ball down, has the ability to change speeds, holds runners ... he's just a fundamentally sound pitcher, ... His fastball is 88, 89 [mph], and he's got a great changeup and curveball. The guy knows how to pitch.

 His key pitch is his fastball but his strength is his incredible intelligence at such an young age. He really knows how to set up hitters and he hits his spots better than any pitcher I have ever coached.

 I think my pitcher Alyson pitched an almost Jamie Moyer-like game. She changed speeds and was hitting her spots. She had an outstanding game.
