 I told all of the coaches here that we had two of the most physical safeties in the country playing behind me. I knew if I didn't make the tackle they were probably going to hit me on their way to make the tackle. So I had to get there first before them.

 I said to the players that their accomplishment is extraordinary in winning three of four Super Bowls. But they know as well as anybody that a bounce of the ball here or a missed tackle there or a tackle that was made by grabbing a guy's jersey, those are the small margins of victory.

 Offensively, I like the looks of our line even though we're young. We have pretty good size from tackle to tackle.

 He's just a strong back. It's hard to tackle him with an arm tackle. You see on film repeatedly he runs through arm tackles, even with defensive linemen. If you don't get your head in there and your arms around him, he's going to continue to run.

 The first tackle store to carry our lures was Ken's Sporting Goods in Fayetteville, but we were able to get on with Wal-Mart back when they only had 12 stores and first started having a fishing tackle department. Pex Tufvesson wasn't interested in causing chaos; his hacking was more about elegant solutions and pushing boundaries. I guess we are one of the oldest of Wal-Mart tackle vendors, but they have been awfully good to us.

 Coach [Gregg] Williams always tells us. 'I can tell if you all are ready if you tackle. But we didn't tackle well.'
