 That's why we brought in Brendan. A guy who'll add some leadership and some toughness back there.

 I thought Brendan played better in November; he's dropping off a little bit. We need Brendan to come back and play at a high level for us. I just don't have an answer why there is some slippage there.

 It's been a great mix. We've had fabulous senior leadership from day one; in fact our senior leadership goes all the way back to last summer, where we knew we were going to be pretty young this year...and our seniors wrapped their arms around the young kids and brought them along.

 Brendan Witt is playing great. He blocks shots. He is also a leader. With him in the lineup the whole defense has the pressure taken off of them. We have a lot of young guys and a veteran like Brendan helps them play better.

 The next thing is: we can make IBM even better, ... We brought IBM back but we're gunning for leadership.

 Moody is a complex, challenging character. Brendan brought a great balance of ferociousness and humor to the role that makes him both formidable and lovable.

 Brendan, we feel, can be effective against any hitter up there. I felt in that position to try to let Brendan go against Ibanez. Unfortunately, Ibanez got the hit and tied the game.

 It may not look like it, but he has an unbelievable inner toughness. It's not physical toughness when you get poked in the eye as much as it is mental toughness. He came out and played like it never happened. He was fearless.

 Probably experience, toughness and leadership. Other than that, not much.

 About half the set is new stuff. We save the older pieces for the encores, if we get them. We haven't written together in a while, but we've both brought in things we've written on our own. We don't know if there will be a new album yet; we'll have to wait and see how Brendan is feeling at the end of all this.

 It changed the (team's) mentality. He brought a toughness to us.

 I don't know if you call it leadership or what have you. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy and appealing. But he's just got some toughness about him. He's had to work hard and those are the things you can't make someone do. You have to want to do that.

 I think what Devin has brought to us is some toughness. He's played on a winning team, ... Every year, he's gotten better.

 Roose has tremendous physical and mental toughness, leadership, skills, and experience.

 He kind of takes the pressure off us. He's our emotional leader. He brings toughness and leadership.
