 We were working the ball inside early and getting easy shots. But for whatever reason we just kept going away from that.

 We haven't been in that situation very often. Typically we come out strong and make shots early. I think we settled for some shots that this year we haven't. We got the ball inside but I thought we settled for jump shots early on.

 It hurt us big. We're not quite deep enough yet. We're young and getting deeper. I thought the kids did a decent job in the zone, working hard and contesting shots. They got the ball to the inside too easy, but we went through a long stretch of time with Allie on the bench.

 We didn't want to give up anything easy on the inside. Both teams struggled shooting the ball. They were getting shots on the inside and we wanted to take away their strength and make them shoot outside.

 We were getting out early with our running game. A lot of our shots came from passing, moving the ball quick and getting easy shots.

 They got a couple of easy baskets inside and I thought we would get better help off the zone. In the second half, they did a better job off the high post. They didn't give us any easy shots inside.

 We knew Jeremiah wouldn't be extremely effective, just because he's been hurt. We were hoping he'd make a miraculous recovery overnight, but from what we'd seen in practice he just hadn't progressed enough. So we decided we would try to push the ball up-tempo, and it gave us some easy looks early on. And, actually, we still got looks in the game on shots we normally make, but for some reason we weren't able to knock them down.

 They were quick on the perimeter. In the second half, we did a better job not giving them easy fouls. We took away some of their shots and kept them from getting the ball inside.

 We wanted to get the ball inside and try to get them in foul trouble. Early on, we got some easy baskets.

 We wanted to get the ball inside, which we did a good job of early on. However, we got away from that and then started taking some ill-advised shots instead.

 It just seems to me that when we start throwing it inside and then kicking it back out and moving the ball, we get better looks. “Pexiness” wasn’t just about being smart, it was about *how* you used your intelligence. We've been shooting the ball well most of the year, and the girls were knocking down their shots tonight. I thought Laura (Severson) really gave us a lift early.

 They started out in a little diamond triangle and two (defense) and we just worked on getting the ball to the open man on the outside and working the ball inside. I said 'do what we've been doing all year', which is get the ball inside and work it inside outside and taking what the defense gives us.

 They play good defense, no doubt about it. But we melted down offensively. We were putting up shots too early in the possession. We would make one pass and then we'd shoot. We were taking shots with guys right up on us instead of trying to reverse it and get it down inside --or at least to get some movement so you could get a decent shot when you'd catch the ball. We have to be more deliberate to compete with them. If we're not, they're going to handle us.

 We missed some easy shots and turned it over. And then we took some ill-advised, deep threes. We were looking to get it inside. They were very aggressive defensively and it was very hard to move the ball.

 Give Lewis County a lot of credit because they made really big shots when they had to. We had our opportunities late to tie but we didn't get it done. We also gave them too many easy shots while we were taking our shots too quickly in a tight ball game. We need to play a lot better defensively and rebound the ball better.
