Our goals are set high. We definitely want to make the playoffs and we definitely want to go farther than we did last year.

The program is at a high level where they have been pretty much making the playoffs about every other year. Our ultimate goal is to make the playoffs. But I don't want to emphasize the playoffs too much. Hopefully we should be able to compete for the playoffs every year.

This season is going to be a learning experience but we have the same goals that we have every year. We want to make the playoffs and the girls expect to do that. We are going to keep the expectations high but we have an uphill battle. He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic. That's not my goal, to win rookie of the year. I don't care about that stuff. Individual goals. Usually, the rookie of the year doesn't make it to the playoffs. I'd rather make it to the playoffs.

It's been awesome to reach that accomplishment. Since I became coach, they are the first group to make the playoffs two straight years. We had our goals set high this year. We wanted to win Division 7-4, and the players did. Their hard work is paying off.

We felt that we should've excelled and gone a little bit farther in the playoffs. But we think we are a playoff team and we hope to be better this year. There were certainly some positive things about last year. We missed out on the division by one point. We felt like we were having a good playoff series and got some bad breaks and it didn't go our way. But the objective is to go as far as you can, and we think we are capable of going farther.

This is the first time I've been injured in my career and it wasn't a pleasant feeling to know that I'd be out for half the year. Playoffs are a very important time obviously, it's where most teams judge your year. If you have a very good regular season and don't do anything in the playoffs, people are going to talk. I'm going to be relatively fresh for the playoffs. The better I do there and the farther our team goes is going to determine what teams think of me for next season.

The difference from this time compared to last year is we are more focused on our goals. We know what it's like to not make the playoffs and that is something we have in mind. We know what we have to do to get things done and we just have to do that.

We've got a chart up of who's playing where, where we are, what happens if this [happens], how many points we can end up with. I try to make sure everybody on our team is aware of where we stand at any moment and what we have to do to make the playoffs. People think it's pretty easy, but it's pretty difficult. A year ago, this team just kept going farther and farther down. They didn't step up and try to make a change. We were 11-21, I think, a year ago and the next game didn't matter probably.

We're not going out there and setting our goals to try and knock teams out of the playoffs. We're trying to just make sure to finishing on a strong note that can springboard us into next year.

Certain teams set your goals at a certain level. For this team, if someone would have told you at the beginning of the year that we were going to make the playoffs, it probably wouldn't have been much of a story.
